Saw only a trailer but Chapel is talking to T'Pring. In Amok Time ( I know, I know I'm a continuity freak) Chapel is on the bridge when T'Pring greets Spock. He says "She is T'Pring. My wife." Chapel wheels around, astonished and looks at Uhura as if to say "The B#$%@@# never said he was married!" You will find this little gem in the uncut version of the episode. So, how does Chapel know T'Pring? Did the writer not watch the uncut version? I care about these things.
T'Pring looked a lot different in TOS S2 - "Amok Time"...:shrug::whistle:
^^^
(Yes - that's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

Look at TOS S1 - "The Menagerie" now. I mean hell, if Uhura served with Pike as we're now seeing - you'd think she'd be more interested in saying SOMETHING to him/visiting him once she knows he's been beamed aboard the Enterprise when Spock addresses the crew; and she's there on the Bridge when Spock says to McCoy he's just to take good care of Fleet Captain Pike.

Here's my response (off the cuff) with this idea. Uhura might not know what to say and so grief stricken at the news that she couldn't bear to see her former commander in that state.

Also, as to the other poster's discussion about T'Pring being "Spock's wife." Well, if Spock did not introduce T'Pring as his wife then of course people are going to be shocked when he says what he does in Amok Time.

Because it's an alternate timeline. ;)

Yeah she was.

No, she wasn't. They were engaged (from childhood), but never actually GOT married.

The only way Spock and T'Pring would have ever genuinely been husband and wife is if Spock had killed Kirk in "Amok Time" and somehow decided not to release her from the marriage.

He called her his wife in the episode. Maybe it's a Vulcan thing.

Can someone link to the scene in question? I don't recall this scene at all1
When they enter orbit of Vulcan, T'Pring pops up on the view screen.

UHURA: Captain. We're standing by on Vulcan hailing frequencies, sir.
KIRK: Open the channel, Lieutenant. Vulcan Space Central, this is the USS Enterprise requesting permission to assume standard orbit.
VULCAN [OC]: USS Enterprise from Vulcan Space Central. Permission granted. And from all of Vulcan, welcome. Is Commander Spock with you?
SPOCK: This is Spock.
VULCAN [OC]: Standby to activate your central viewer, please.
(Nurse Chapel enters.)
CHAPEL: Doctor, what's going on?
(The viewscreen lights up with the image of a very beautiful woman.)
T'PRING [on viewscreen]: Spock, it is I.
SPOCK: T'Pring, parted from me and never parted, never and always touching and touched. We meet at the appointed place.
T'PRING [on viewscreen]: Spock, parted from me and never parted, never and always touching and touched. I await you.
UHURA: She's lovely, Mister Spock. Who is she?
SPOCK: She is T'Pring. My wife.
