Master Replicas announced two new Stargate models: Asuran Cruiser and improved USS Prometheus X–303.

The Asuran cruiser is an... interesting choice. I like it, but I can think of at least 30 ships that are more important.

The Prometheus doesn't look significantly better than before to me. Instead of making it "rusty", they should have taken a look at the greebles of the upgraded CG model from “Ethon” – even without making entirely new molds, they could have printed them. The blue engine glow looks nice, but I already added that to mine.

Thank you, that’s a good list of SG ships and puts the Asuran cruiser into perspective. It was from a time after I had stopped seeing SGA. Based on the Stargate wiki, I’m surprised MR is producing the Asuran cruiser before the Aurora class.

The Prometheus isn’t the most beautiful ship, so I’m not tempted to get another model of it. We don’t see the underside of the new model, for instance.

It might be simply in terms of what they have ready assets for. I don't know how many physical models were ever built for Stargate, but I have a feeling it wasn't many, so it could be the old 'the digital assets are in a format that no longer exists on a hard drive in a PC in a warehouse' problem with getting models for anything but the main ships.

I think physical miniatures were almost exclusively filmed for the movie and SG1 season 1. After that it was CG, and the assets of some of the many VFX studios may indeed be lost or inaccessible.

But I don't think that's the reason. I think the only relevant models that EM/MR very likely don't have are some of the more rarely seen Goa'uld ships as well as good versions of the Puddle Jumper and Atlantis.

- They've already prepared the Ori mothership and Aurora class, and probably the Wraith dart and Destiny shuttle as well since they were on the original list of ten ships.

- BlueBrixx designers recently had access to orthographic renders of the Al'kesh and Wraith cruiser, I think there's a good chance that Eaglemoss provided these to the licensor.

- They seem to have the assets of the in-house VFX team, which means they should have usable models for most of the SGA/SGU/very late SG1 stuff: Wraith dart/shuttle/cruiser/hive/super-hive, Aurora class, Destiny shuttle, Nakai mothership, Ancient seed ship, berzerker drone and drone control ship, Asgard O'Neill class, Ori mothership...

- They've used some classic SG1 models by Image Engine. I'm not sure how many they have of these, since they did not use their superior Death Glider, but it should be least some of the following: Tel'tak, Al'kesh, Goa'uld troop transport, mysterious gas cloud ship, X-302, X-301, Anubis' flagship, Replicator spider ship, Replicator cruiser, Asgard Daniel Jackson class...

IMO most of these are less obscure than the Asuran cruiser.

The Destiny shuttle looks cool.
I wish the models were smaller. Easier to collect and store.
Wasn’t there supposed to be a relabelled Daedalus sister ship model due?
We definitely need all the Asgard ships.
