So as promised, here's some pics I took of my EM 1701-Enterprise Beyond Refit - with corrected phaser bank alignment on the top side of the primary saucer:

Obviously not a complex custom: simply re-drawing the phasers where they should have been placed, and painting out the incorrect ones, on the diecast.

Note: I also added the centre 'ring' marking, which can be seen on the Kelvin Enterprise (in all it's iterations).

:) I personally prefer it with the corrected phaser banks - and think it makes all the difference to the saucer, despite being, what is essentially, a subtle difference in placement.

Anywho - just thought I share!
Good job! Those phaser turrets are an odd mistake in the model.

^^^ Thanks for posting that pic pst - looks great with the fixed dome!

So much so, you inspired me (I was somewhat hesitate about fixing the dome, as I didn't have the correct sharpie tone, and there was nothing available at retain, matching that of a turquoise sharpie pen - despite having other colours beyond blue, red and black!).

I found my blue sharpie pen and used that, and then dabbed on a thin layer of Humbrol Brunswick Green Gloss #3 Enamel - which mixed well with the permanent marker - resulting in a dark turquoise-esque hue (which I'm pleased with). Admittedly, I like your dome colours, especially with the variation of tones!

So overall, I'm glad I also fixed the dome, as it makes the primary saucer pop, and finishes it off nicely!

:)

@saddestmoon what'd you do to emphasize the ring? i can't actually find any evidence the ring is like that on the ship as seen in the film, but what you did looks good to me. was just thinking about sticking a pencil in there...

I used a thin pointed mechanical pencil (possibly 1B - so not super dark, but not super light either.

As far as onscreen evidence, it’s hard to discern, but the ring line was sort of seen in several trailer shots, and in the movie itself:

The ring is essentially where the saucer slopes upwards more diagonally, towards the apex of the bridge - so possibly more of a seam line, marking made by the change in angled plating?

IIRC, this is where the whole upper bridge module was "dropped" into the primary hull upon its construction, which would make sense that there is some indication that there is a hull seam there.

there's also visual evidence of exactly that process in star trek beyond:

to be fair, the bold line on the A is clearly not the seam line, but still.

I found an Eaglemoss Oberth Class in a charity shop of all places - it even had the original box. I couldn't help but buy it because the Oberths are among my favourites - gotta love a science ship!

I've also caved and bought an Enterprise D. This should arrive late next week, and I'll post pics when it arrives.:)

It's nice when the length-to-width ratio closely matches that of the box, because it allowed for a bigger scale (the Enterprise-C being another example).

If you live in a big enough town to have them, I suggest asking around any comics/collectible stores to see if they have any. You'll save on shipping and you won't have to wait. Even if they don't have something in stock, they can sometimes order it for you. (Plus it's nice to support local businesses in a time when everyone's buying online).

They are indeed intrepid little ships. I like how they are nearly always depicted as the background vessels, anonymously keeping the wheels of the Federation turning whilst the Enterprises get all the glamour assignments.

Actually, much like the Miranda, they tend to be cursed ships, with the ship and/or crew being lost in some terrible disaster: the Grissom, the Tsiolkovsky, the Vico, the Pegasus, possibly the Raman. Even the Yosemite suffered a serious disaster, though apparently not beyond salvage.

Ooh cool ...excelsior concept model....that’s stretching it a bit mind you....still as one o-
They are doing another?
Ok. Wallet senses tingling.

End the damn line rather than milking plsthxbye

I really want a Year of Hell Voyager.

And a Voyager with moveable nacelles.

Please hear me almighty Eaglemoss!

I'm tempted to get the XL Voyager, but I have a playmates Voyager, so I need to come up with a good enough excuse to spend the money.

I don’t think they could do moveable parts, but an “cruising at warp” Voyager would be great.
