Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

It had been announced as special last year. Due to versions and reprints, some reference materials assume there were 2 Enterprise really ringships - Starliner-7/XCV-330 and Declaration class.

The CGI model is Mark Rademaker's and appeared in one of the 2010s and the 2013 Ships of the Line calendars.

The novels explain the design as based on Vulcan ship design, realised by Human engineers.

How is this Jumbo NX Refit different from the Large NX-Refit they released a couple of months ago? The one I have is around seven inches long

I think it looks like it's about nine or ten inches, so it'll be bigger than the NX-refit special, but not as long as the jumbo TOS-E.

Not sure about the jumbo NX-01, just because I already have the original model, the mirror universe one, and the refit special edition. Don't know if I'd really wanna spend £50 on another model of it essentially.

Anyway, #102 the Klingon D5 Battle Cruiser (ENT) was out yesterday. I've been waiting for this one for a while so it's nice to finally have! Also the special issue swarm ship thing from Star Trek: Beyond was on sale too. Can't say I was interested. I saw the movie at the cinema last July and watched it again on Blu-ray at Christmas, and I honestly can't remember what those little things even looked like. It could really just be anything. It looked like that did it? If you say so.

It looked like that, aye. For months before the movie came out my mind couldn't picture the swarm ships nor memorise their design. Even when the cut-out was published.

But since then the design is locked. It's basically darts and blades with a crew compartment.

I'm very much looking forward to the new BSG line. Although I do hope that they wait until the Trek line is done. I don't want to have to take out a second mortgage.

Hmm... Certain people around here will be tickled pink over that. :D

However, I do think it should be called Ambassador, as if it was an experimental first design, with the Enterprise-C being a part of the "production line", along with the Yamaguchi and other such variants that would have come later.

Very cool development though. Definitely looking forward to seeing that one on my shelf.

I suppose you could say in terms of canon all we know about the Enterprise-C was it was destroyed in 2344. Who's to say when it was launched in god knows when it looked a bit different and had a refit somewhere down the road.

That's very clever! I never thought of that. I also can't think of licenced, non-canon sources that would nail down that the C looked like it did from the start.

Nice that they are doing Probert's original Ambassador-class ship. Looks cool and I'm also okay with it being called Enterprise-C, because that's what it was supposed to represent.

I do prefer the design they went with in the end, though. And since I'm somewhat iffy on the model they already have released for that, I'd rather they redo that with the proper details. Here's hoping it will be one of the supersize ships as well.

BTW, does anyone remember this guy who created this website with mock covers of possible models for future issues? I'd like to have a look at it and figure out what ships might actually be interesting to do models of.

OMG, I can't agree with this enough!

Hell yeah. Always wanted the Big C in big.

The guy is Alberto Richter, @glykokalyx on Twitter.
