Star Trek: Starfleet Scouts in development

I could see Ron Moore or Seth McFarlane making it work as well. I am sure their are others but those two would of course would bring lots of attention and who among us doesn't want to see them working on more Star Trek due to their past shows that were 100% pure canon official Trek!

I would love to reply to this however my eyes appear to have rolled right out of their sockets and I think one has ended up under the bed.

Reading this is like getting a look at full frontal Medusan.

Ron Moore's not returning to Star Trek. Everyone really needs to make their peace with that.

At this stage, I doubt Seth MacFarlane would even want to do Star Trek. It would be a step down for him after the freedom he's had with his own TV shows for twenty years now.

Why would Ron Moore not return to Star Trek? If he had some of the creative freedom he had in making Battlestar Galaticia I see no reason why he might not be interested. Enough time has passed since he worked on Trek in the past and has gone out and proven that he can make stuff other than Trek so it's not like he really needs to prove himself either at this point.

He wouldn't have creative freedom.

Paramount's not going to give him that kind of freedom on a Star Trek series. And besides, he's said one of his biggest regrets about moving onto Voyager is that after DS9 he should have closed the door on Star Trek and moved on with life. Which he has now done. I don't see him as the type to wallow in the past like Terry Matalas.

Well, I don't know if he has said anything to contradict this in the last 9 months...

"It's always one of those things in the back of my mind. It'd be fun to go back and do something before my career is over. It's in such great hands, you know, they're doing such a great job with it. So they don't need me, but it would be fun to go do something eventually."

--Ronald D. Moore

Indeed it would be fun. I don't hold out hope, but I would love to see it happen.

RDM & his writing crew did do a pitch for a hypothetical 8th DS9 season in the "What We Left Behind" documentary. Chances are slim that he would come back under any circumstances other that complete creative control, but I wouldn't write it off as a complete impossibility.

Ron Moore has been on record that the main reason he hasn't returned to Trek his his contractual obligations with Sony (which have developed Outlander, Helix, Electric Dreams, For All Mankind, and the upcoming God of War series) preclude him from working with Paramount at the moment. But he's been up front that if/when he becomes a free agent again, he'd be willing to come back.

I doubt Ron Moore wants to helm a children's series of YouTube Star Trek shorts.
Oh, absolutely, the very notion is ridiculous and the thought that it was even brought up was ridiculous. However, I was just responding to those saying that Ron Moore has no desire to ever return to Star Trek.

ETA: In fact, I seem to recall Sam Witwer saying something on Katie Sackhoff's podcast that Ron Moore has done some uncredited Star Trek work with Otoy.
