I would not be disappointed to see:

Minefield? Saru did you see a minefield during the jump? No?

I guess this is where we're at now, @Rahul. Wiring explosives to a sizeable chunk of the galaxy is now a low-stakes scenario fitting neatly into a school-based Young Adult drama, apparently. Doesn't sound at all like a plot that stumbled over from Discovery, with the writers' stakes dial still stuck on “bigger”.

Janeway: Not big enough.

I feel like this series should have had a pre-series movie or something to give a backstory. I'm really interested in this trial, but it feels like there are two seperate series going on right now. There is what happened with Braka and the Strontium and the Federation's response, and then we we saw at the Academy. It seems like having that backstory (Kind of like Vulcan Hello/Battle of Binary Stars) would have given this series a lot more gravitas.

It had great visuals and acting, a lot more stuff for Reno, but those oh so emotional scenes were written too melodramatically, even with oh so sweet violins swelling... I don't usually mind it that much, but here it was quite blatant. More of the trial scene would've been nice, that was the most interesting part.

A really good way to integrate all the pieces of the season. It works. All the pieces fall into place. The debate. The relationships. Even the B-plots. Tilly's education in drama was what made the final speech work. Really good stuff, among the best of Kurtzman Trek. I'm skeptical, but I really hope it gets the full four years they want.
