Another thing... sorry keep posting random thoughts. She said she was ordered to to remain put. You don’t order ships to do anything. Does that mean the ship was already self aware when she was parked ?? Hmmm

Ok I think I need to move my rating from 7 to 10. This may not be some one off
The computer may have interpreted a lack of further input as an "order" not to move the ship.
I wish they would stop with the holographic stuff. They didn’t have that tech back then.
6/10
All the times that we've seen holograms in Discovery and now in Short Treks pretty clearly show that they did have that tech in the 23rd century.

It's pretty evident that, given our current state of technology, by the time we get to the 2260s, the holograms will be much more sophisticated and advanced than the ones seen in TNG - such that not including them would be anachronistic. People really need to get over that.

Also, the state of the Federation during completely arbitrary super-future time has absolutely no relevance to the story. Who gives a shit?

For the purposes of this story it's meaningless, but the far future of the Federation has always been of interest to me since reading some fan-made timelines that included fascinating details from old Trek novels and fan stories which jumped far ahead. A universe where Data and Lore were the last beings alive; a detailed history of the Federation's decay and collapse in the 30,000's; an evolved humanity exploring other timelines after exploring all of ours... it's fascinating.

We know in Enterprise that the Federation is not a thing by the 31st century.
We don't know that. The temporal cold war was resolved, and all glimpses of the future were invalid. Daniels wasn't starfleet, but that didn't mean he wasn't from the Federation. He clearly was aligned with whatever faction represented Federation friendly interests.

So the ship has been left for a 1000 years and no one has found it?

Space is huge, even in a star system you can hide a powered down ship. Shes in the middle of space, its more an issue of how did the lifepod get close then how did someone not see her.

Incorrect, we see it all the time on this show. And TAS showed a ship 10 years older than this one had holographic rooms like shown here.

The ships might not be self aware, but they are very advanced AI's. The Captain could have totally input orders to stay on station.

Whatever the state of the Federation is during this time, it's not even binding on canon. There are a ton of different explanations for how things turned out this way:

- "Calypso" is an alternate timeline
- The Discovery in this episode is a copy
- Craft (or even Zora) imagined the whole thing
- It's a holodeck simulation that Craft is experiencing

And on and on and on.

DSC may choose to set up "Calypso" if the showrunners feel like it. But they are in no way obligated to do so.

(Yes, I realize I said earlier that the Discovery wouldn't ever be blown up or otherwise put in danger on DSC because it has to survive 1000 years, but I totally changed my mind on that.)

Good story but the set up was absolutely confounding. If you don't ask any questions and just accept everything given to you this is a 9 or 10. As I can't help but ask questions....its a 7/10.
