Yeah, it's also probably just a single projector.
yep. when you look at the dancing scenes from the S'wonderful S'marvelous bits, from a corner angle the projection is essentially flat in several layers to look more 3 dimensional, like pieces of stage art. It's a really nice way to do it. I like the thought that went into it. This was Zora's projection of reality for someone else for the first time, her favorite movie.

Considering you saw Holographic Comms on the Bridge during the run of the show, yes, it does. Also equating a system that projects non-solid images in the 23rd century with devices that effectively 'project' a solid 'being' that can hold and use physical tools and interact directly with the real world is a bit of apples and oranges here. :)

She looked awfully solid when they were interacting. Causing his clothes to move when they were together.

I knew it! You rated it and it was something above a 5. You liked it. I told you.

Should let you also know that I try to be as honest as possible where this show is concerned. Whether it is for good or ill.

Well, they do say the AI has spent 1,000 years upgrading itself. Perhaps that was part of the upgrades. There's wiggle room there, anyway.

Now does Audrey Hepburn feel like human skin supported by a muscular and skeletal system, or like a dull force field moving around?

I wasn't overly impressed with this installment originally, but I watched it again on the weekend and I enjoyed it a lot more than before. I think Annabelle Wallis really makes this ep with her voice work. :bolian:

Incidentally, I just noticed the Short Trek episodes are now available on Netflix. Not sure if this is common knowledge around here. I‘m rewatching ”Calypso“ at the moment.

Maybe, or it could just be that the Alcorians are like a future version of the Maquis. Maybe it's the Alcorians that don't like mixing with other species. Whatever it is, the Alcorians had been separated from the Federation for long enough that the word 'Federation' had evolved into something completely foreign. Unless of course the Federation also call themselves 'V'draysh' in the future.

Come to think of it, from what I've read about the short, Humans seem to be in decline in future, maybe an alien species has come to dominance within the federation hence why it's now known as 'The V'draysh'
maybe pure humans are scarce in the future

Finally watched it. That was lovely and charming and I couldn't care less how exactly the holo-technology works or whether it's 100% consistent with TNG or whatever. That's not remotely what this story was about or what makes it tick.

Not everything has to be all about "canon" and "world-building" or the finer points of make-believe gadgets. Sometimes the backdrop is just the backdrop.
