That is exceptional, moreso for a Star Trek movie!

But the ultimate back-story, and the heart of the movie, as it should be, is the love story between Kirk and Spock.
Good the LA times is a big Newspaper this is a good sign
The New York Daily News also seems to slightly like it...

Yeah the headline of the review is "star trek is a steller gem of a film"...5 outta 5 stars. It was also in newsday on like the 4th page...
Next it'll be on the front page of the NY Times!

If that's true, JJ has very keen instincts. Forget going boldly and commies-in-space, THAT is what Trek has always been about.![]()
Agreed! Damn it!93% good reviews is not good enough. It has to be 100% dammit. Now there is no chance of that happening. Maybe the next movie can do it.
A few of us still exist but never enough. For me, this film will never represent a fair exchange for those missing seasons of ENT.*shrugs* just me, I guess.
In that opinion, I am well and truly alone for sure...
The fact that we're seeing "A" and "B" and not "D" and "F" speaks volumes about the quality of this movie.

No, you're not alone! I like the new movie but it for sure leaves a large unwritten gap and not enough reference to ENT - (one quip about the beagle is not enough)

You are a wise man, J. Allen.
