Um why does this subscribe site require my phone number in order to subscribe.......... Hope they like texting Jenny. 867-5309.
The whitewashing is so minute that it can be ignored and watched as the trek version. It is almost like it is star trek but in another version of the multiverse. Although I wish we could have seen Aron Eisenberg with Ferengi ears.
When the Breen dude talked I kept thinking of Simon from Frisky dingo.
With even more whitewashing I would have gotten into this more, every time they said Confederation I cringed. I know this topic was already discussed but it could have gone with a better name. But at the same time I know the white washing was done last minute in only a few hours of rewrites.
Clones of Dax. Nice. The trek verse explanation could have been that the Trill Symbiosis Commission wanted to find a way to get more hosts as DS9 established that more Trill's were compatible than the government lead the public to believe. Section 31 could have found this out and manipulated them into going along with the experiment. Section 31's interests being that a symbiote that can go from host to host and carry the previous hosts memories would be perfect for espionage.
They need to edit that
Where's [MIKEY] when you need him?
Or Welshy?!
Looking a the trailer though it seems that notUhura has a significant role in the plot rather than just a cameo as well as notChakotay.
Hilariously though close up you can see Tim is wearing his prosthetic ears, they've just been rounded in post-production.
All I did was put in an email and nothing else, and it took me to the video. It didn't even ask for a confirmation, so I suspect any old string of letters would work.Subscribing didn't work for me. Is there any other way to watch it?
Thanks. It's somewhat annoying that they make you think you need to enter all that other info.All I did was put in an email and nothing else, and it took me to the video. It didn't even ask for a confirmation, so I suspect any old string of letters would work.
I don't think it's anywhere else yet.
Well, Rigel is a real star system, so you can call someone Rigelian, just like you could call someone a martian and not get in trouble with any number of sci-fi properties. Honestly, hearing them get creative with the names is half the fun of the episode.^
Thanks. This is helpful. IMO they could've played around a bit more with some of the names to distance it even further from Trek. I'm surprised they have kept Cirroc Lofton's character name essentially the same. And also the Rigellians, which are a species in Trek.
Remember the guidelines were announced a day or two into filming. I suspect the opening scene with Sisko, Kovok and the Admiral was shot before any changes were made. Kovok's ears look weird, like they've been CG'd into human shape.^

Federation = Confederation
Section 31 = Section 6
Romulans = Rigellians
USS Archer = CSS Archer
Warp drive = FTL drive
Tuvok = Kovok
Pavel Chekov = Pavel Tolstoy
Nyota Uhura = Grace Jamison
Ichab = Chaffee
Jadzia = Jada
Chakotay = Cordero
Nog = Fnaxnor
Jake Sisko = Jacob Sisko
Some of these names are from the Renegades website, I'm not sure they were all said on-screen in part 1. "Pavel Tolstoy" is from "Pavel" in the flashback and his granddaughter's surname (which may admittedly be different). He's credited only as "The Admiral". There was a wrecked ship in TNG: "Best of Both Worlds" scripted as the USS Chekov, but they decided at the last minute that a reference to Chekov was "too cute" for such a serious scene and renamed it the USS Tolstoy![]()
