Star Trek: Renegades

That would be cool! Or Odo or Data!
I'm really hoping for Worf, though :klingon:

This just in, from the Renegades site! So exciting! :D

It's interesting - the pilot had a handful of VOY characters back with Chekov while this has mainly DS9ers with Chakotay, Tuvok and Chekov.

i wonder if this is on purpose - maybe a future episode will be a TNG tribute?

I would rather see a decent script than all the celebs in the Trek Universe. Hopefully they'll pull it off this time.

With Melinda Snodgrass on board, my fingers are crossed, and I'm feeling positive about the next installment.

Did she quit, though? Her comment from November 6 (at the bottom of the comments on that Facebook post) makes it sound like she might still be on board (at least, for episodes 2&3):

It would be lovely if Chekov's story could be completed. So do check out the kickstarter and see if we can make that happen.

That said, the Kickstarter campaign is still $90,000 short of its goal. Kicktraq has the project trending short of its goal.

Well, in reply to a poster who expressed disappointment at her withdrawing from the project she responded:

That's very kind...But I really can't get sideways with CBS.

Good catch -- I glazed right over that comment. It does look like she's called it quits, doesn't it?

It makes me wonder how they're going to fulfill the perk promising an autographed copy of the episode two script by the writer of the episode (who was supposed to be Melinda Snodgrass)?

Paging Tom...

I'm not so critical of the script to Prelude because I see it as a trailer rather than as a film, especially because it's all hook and no payoff. For what it is, it's fine, a few really bad lines aside. OTOH I think they could have made it a self-contained narrative that hinted at a bigger story.

Renegades suffered from too many characters who have no purpose in the story except to be there to establish that they exist for future segments. They'd have been better off leaving a lot of them out and having them be introduced in any potential future episodes as needed. Adding more actors threatens to make it even more top-heavy.

I've been hired to rewrite a script where I've been forbidden from cutting any characters for which actors have already been cast, which is a pain because the story would be cleaner and better if I could toss about 4 of them.

I need to hire you to re-write my script! Getting WGA Signatory Status is really tough for an overseas firm that has never produced anything, and that has no US-based agent. The forms are very US-centric. I get that, and I'm working on it.

It can be downloaded from YouTube using any number of websites. I recommend KeepVid. :)

Thanks. I was looking for a direct download minus any imbedded commercials.

RealPlayer is relatively cheap and good for YouTube downloads. :klingon:
Remember, the Star Trek Renegades Kickstarter ends in a few days so please continue to share it around the web and pledge whatever you can :)
