Star Trek: Renegades

In the words of the Great American Philosopher, Gordon Gekko, "It's all about the bucks, the rest is just conversation."

As long as there is no perceived threat, then fine. If not, the lawyers are on the way...

"I beg you. Do not implicate me. They would burn me...
I will do everything I can to prove you innocent. I will disprove all the charges of copyright infringement. But you must never again speak to the comrades you left behind."

I have nothing but positive vibes in the direction of this project.

Best of luck to everyone involved and may your efforts bear fruit.

Thanks, There are a lot hard work from everyone involved. We are getting closer and closer to getting the VFX done. Mostly all the space sequences are completed (thanks to Tobias! :) ), there is just tons and tons of other VFX still being done. For instance, holographic interfaces play a major part in the film, since it is only logical that we would see a progression to that since STR takes place 12 years after Voyager. They look amazing!

Having Tobias on board addresses the biggest single weakness of the earlier production. I have nothing but good wishes for the project.

A barb well deserved. But I too am quite pleased to see Tobias involved with this production.

As for Of Gods and Men, there's one neat plot point toward the end that's a simple yet brilliant battle maneuver that I still love today. The story of course is all over the place and there are a ton of issues with it overall, but that particular moment was inspired.

I'm hoping whatever Axanar has come up with for this amazing battle strategy Garth has that makes him such a big damn hero will be as clever.

Star Trek: Countdown/STO-style holographic displays were exactly what I was hoping for! Excellent.

I hope it does come a series, I will take any series.
I just hated how people said Enterprise was bad, but I love it and I like watching Enterprise

Although Renegades has been delayed it's quite fitting that it's due to hopefully be released in Voyager's 20th Anniversary year; as it features Tuvok, Zimmerman, Icheb and Admiral Paris!

Also of course several Voyager regulars are in Star Trek Online right now

Was that the use of cargo pods being used as weapons, or something else that impressed you?

Yes, looking forward to see how this project comes out.

The word is that by the end of March they expect to be able to say when the first showing will be at a convention.

I've never worried much about the meeting with CBS. There was never any realistic chance this was going to get picked up, IMO.

It would bother me if they plan to screen it at conventions before releasing it to the people who actually helped pay for it though. That would be very unfair.

But maybe some people who paid for it are also at the conventions.

I think IF CBS ever picked up Renegades, they would never air the current production. They'd just use it as a proof of concept and create a new one based on that.

But most of them are likely not. Surely those who contributed money to get it made deserve to be among the first to see it?

Agreed, but I think even that is a vanishingly remote possibility, which is why I've never worried much about it.

As someone who selected the DVD perk on Kickstarter I hope there's at least a Download before screening.
