Spoilers Star Trek: Prodigy General Discussion Thread

A new Type 1! Bigger than a cricket, but I do love me a small hand phaser. Also love that it's like the early TNG dustbusters.

Aside from the need to put a Starfleet delta on the new designs I'm fine with them.

Starfleet branding is outta control! Reminds me of the 1980s Mission Impossible show (and Tom Cruise movies) where the IMF logo was stamped on everything. Not very smart for an ultra-secret spy organization.

This was my biggest problem with Section 31 using the blacked-out delta in DSC. Same exact issue. There should be no distinguishing marks - ever.

I wish they'd correct the shoulder of her uniform... is it that hard to get a corner instead of a curve in 3D animation? XD

Remember when Superman was supposed to be dead (again) and wanted to stay incognito, so he flew around at night in an all black outfit -- with a big S symbol on his chest? I think its kind of like that...

I am starting to wonder if the term "prodigy" is ever going to come up --- and also to vaguely fear that somebody on the writing staff thinks that's how you spell "progeny", which at least one character can't stop saying.

Unrelated: I know this is supposed to take place a few years after Voyager but I wonder if that's a fakeout? Because so far, everything about this show's setting would make more sense if
pretty much everyone we've seen are the descendants of a 24th century Starfleet taskforce stranded in the area centuries before the "present", with Gwyn's father and the Diviner being the only ones who remember their origins and want to keep it secret so as to hold on to the power they've established.

I‘m pretty sure the bad guy called Gwyn prodigy in the opening two-parter.
