News Star Trek Prodigy Cancelled, Season 2 to be shopped around

So you don't hate the man who is helping destroy the entertainment industry by making it a trend to make it impossible to watch series that are unsuccessful? Alright, then. Personally, I can't imagine someone that greedy is a good person.
Is he being greedy or his bosses in the name of profits?

Again, the attitude that I reject is the personalization of this hate. Just not my way.

Well, I'd imagine that in 1000 years the tax laws might be a bit different. Also, I think you can legally rerelease it, you just have to fill out a lot of paperwork and you may have to pay a fee. Don't quote me on that, though.

Good news. Prodigy is still on Paramount+ in the UK. I'm cautiously optimistic, though I am fully prepared for the possibility of waking up one morning to find it gone.

Are the three other series announced as being removed (Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, The Game, and Queen of the Universe) already gone in the US as well? Because I've just checked and they're still up as well. Again, they'll probably be removed at some point, but I'm hoping that they won't be. Perhaps there's a difference in British tax law that makes this sort of tax write-off impossible? I don't know, I'm not a tax lawyer.

It can be legally shown as long as you pay back the money you got for writting off the taxes.

It's not as simple as just giving back the money. Otherwise it would be abused for interest free loans. There are also interest, penalties, and pissing off the IRS who will want to take a deep dive into your books to see what else you've been writing off as losses that aren't. Thus pissing off your board and shareholders for putting the business in that situation in the first place.

It's not showing on my account now.

If no one buys the rights, does that mean there is a chance they will be back on Paramount+, or will they just stay off the service and in limbo? :(

Honestly based on what I've heard (the show was popular with adults but not with kids) is par for the course with Nickelodeon dropping it.
I figured they were ready for that, or at least for the younger set to catch on more slowly. While they were certainly aiming for kids, they created a show that was quintessentially Trek, to ensure that the older Trek fans would gravitate toward it.

Well, it's finally disappeared from Paramount+ for me as well. However, all twenty episodes of Season 1 still seem to be available for purchase on Amazon Prime and iTunes. Again, I'll have to wait and see if that's permanent.

You might want to look closer at that because I thought you could purchase all 20 episodes, but that's not the case. Only the first 10 are available.

Well, I'm not sure if it'll last. Fingers crossed.
Something I've just noticed is that (here at least) Prodigy has an age rating of PG. I'm not really sure why, but I'm sure that can't have helped its success. Ideally, you'd want a children's series to be rated U, surely?
