This article with producer Aaron Waltke tells you pretty much everything you'd want to know about the uniforms and lots of other fun details:

Thanks for sharing that! Confirms what ‪‪I had said earlier, that the Diviner was clearly sent back more than 17 years, and further confirms that The Diviner and Drednok are from approximately 50 years in the future, and that the First Contact with Solum is somewhat imminent.

Lots of details here! Aaron (and the entire Prodigy creative team) are a blessing.

Make Waltke the show runner. He might be my favorite writer so far of any of the Trek series. That was a great read, and he really does know his trek, based on that and the interview I heard a few weeks ago.

I ended up giving this episode an 8. I think I'm going to see it again back to back with the first part, but I still had some hesitation on how rushed the episode felt at the end. It also brought forth some nervous questions, like the Protostar is warping towards the Federation with a device to tear the Federation a part and they don't even know it. Yes it probably won't work considering what we know from Picard, but it was still an ominous note to go out on.

He was promoted to showrunner for Season 2, ‪‪I believe.

Edit: ‪‪I knew I’d seen it somewhere, and found it mentioned in an interview Aaron did with Geek Girl Authority last month, and ‪‪I’m fairly sure I’ve seen or heard it mentioned in one of other interviews he conducted following Kobayashi’s premiere as well.

I think officially he was promoted from writer in season 1 to co-executive producer in season 2. I don't think the Hageman Brothers are out (?) so probably more accurate to say co-showrunner.

If TPTB have even the slightest bit of sense they will dig their hooks into Aaron and never let go. It seems like he must do 3 interviews a day sometimes, willing to talk to anyone about Star Trek no matter how small their platform is. Then once you listen to him speak about Trek it's clear the reason he's willing to talk to anyone about it isn't solely because he wants to promote his show but because he LOVES it. I hope we get to see his influence on Trek for years to come, and I don't just mean Prodigy. Give this man at least 2 live action shows! And a movie if he wants one!

‪‪I’m sure you’re right. Like you say, his official title is co-executive producer.

It’s been reported that he’s the showrunner starting season 2 in a couple articles and interviews he’s signed off on and participated in/promoted, so I’m sure he’s functioning somewhat in that capacity in season 2, but as you say, not at the expense of the Hagemans.‪‪

I gave it a 10.
Both episodes together are fantastic.

I think it's pretty obvious that the Diviner didn't get left on Tars Lamora.
First off, he's not wearing his support suit when we see him last and secondly, Holo-Janeway's programming would not allow her to let the kids leave him behind to die.

Plus Dal hesitated to fire his phasers when he had the Diviner dead-to-rights, it seems all along that the plan was to incapacitate, not kill him.

Actually, if you think about it, the Diviner and Drednok seem to have travelled over 70 years into the past total across 2 time jumps.

The first jump was 50 years into the past to roughly 2383 just after Chakotay and the Protostar left for the DQ. Its possible that this jump was the anomaly Chakotay mentioned in his log, and Drednok then boarded the ship, attacked (and interrogated) Chakotay and Diviner deposited his weapon. At some point, Chakotay managed to break free and kicks both the Diviner and Drednok off the Protostar, but something happens as a result of his attempt at escaping which causes another temporal surge and throws both the Protostar and the REV-12 another 20 odd years (or more) into the past.

Chakotay manages to hide the Protostar inside Tars Lamora. Diviner was only able to track it to there (but not its actual location inside the asteroid) and starts looking for it.

At least, that's how I'm piecing what we know thus far... and its pure speculation still.

Wow, that whole section on Uniforms and Combadges was great. He mentions that if/when the show reaches 2385, we'll start seeing the uniforms from the Picard flashbacks.

If the show continues its existing quality etc. it will EASILY reach and surpass 2385. Or at least, we can hope. :-)

So the basic thrust of the gist is, the Diviner and Drednok only intended on making one time jump (to 50 years in their past, i.e. 2383)? They didn't plan on the Protostar being thrown even further back?

And the version of the Protostar that's native to 2383 has yet to be stolen, amirite?

That would seem to be the case.

Time travel can be a bit finnicky so could you clarify on what you mean by that? Which version of the Protostar? The one the kids are flying or the one Chakotay originally left with?
Because, the kids actually already stole it in 2383. :D.. so which act of stealing are we talking about? The Kids or the Diviner?

The version of the Protostar that Chakotay was captain of seems to have already been launched and lost (just as I speculated before)... otherwise, why would Admiral Janeway be out there in the Dauntless looking for it?

I don't think so if Janeway is trying to find it.

‪‪I’m with @Tuskin38 and @Deks on that. Janeway’s crew was monitoring for and tracking the protodrive’s use, and she immediately went into “find my Chakotay” mode when alerted to it for the third time.

Like @Deks has said, ‪‪it was launched with Chakotay’s mission to the Delta Quadrant sometime before the show’s present of 2383, and then sent back 17+ years.

The latter.

(by "stolen" I meant by the Diviner, not by the kids.)

The interview above does confirm that the new Dauntless does have Quantum Slipstream, but it will be rarely used due to the Benamite crystals being rare and difficult to synthesize.

So, its Version 2 Quantum Slipstream then that VOY crew developed (10 000 Ly's per min)?
Or have they decided that QS drive needs them regardless? Because the V1 originally seen on the fake Dauntless in season 4 didn't need them (and it was slower... 300 Ly's per hour max - which is still pretty fast - even if the sustained flight one was slower at around 328 Ly's per day and needing 3 moths to cross 60 000 Ly's - it would still be more than viable for long term use without Benamite Crystals).

I love being correct. :D

Looks like either the fake Dauntless (from "Hope and Fear") was based on existing Starfleet specs, or the real Dauntless was intentionally built to resemble the fake one.
