5O years ago, Roddenberry shared his vision
One where Man stopped Killing Man
And made an important decision
The world's resources would go towards Life
And give everyone exactly what they need
Freeing them from war and from strife
So, 5O years later, surely it's better now
Than the chaos and confusion of the Sixties
In some ways. But Gene's vision's still around
Weavers of dreams have kept STAR TREK going
Because it's more than just entertainment
It's a standard we can rally around, knowing
Yes, Life can get tough - Yes, it's often unfair
But STAR TREK reminds us that there's always hope
5O years on, that's something that we all still share

I am serious with this next question. my Friend. Do I have your permission to copy, offset print and frame the above poem and plaque? I am very much moved by the prose and poetry, and the meaning it has to both of us, and to others. I want to share your creation with my world here, and at home!

My Friend 'Frakes said words to me
Personal words to read and see
Words of compliment, kind honesty
About our Poems, here, me and he

I smiled and preened at his words of praise
Similar to his, I sent back in past days
Creative rhyme on the page we raise
With different pattern, meaning and ways

But, all at once I thought of our discourse
It occured to me there were many missed voices
A Few Good Posters here, making choices
But what of the World, the Terrorists ISIS?

What if We tried to say some Things
Positive-good, not Negative-Cringe
Words that are Heard, Even to the Fringe
Inclusive, Decisive, devoid of Dividing!

Our Planet is at war with itself and its People
Yes, in the Past, but this time it's Creepy
The PTB don't like Death that is Reaping
But the Rhetoric they give is not very "Helping"

Not to say we turn an eye
To the Carnage raining on ground, in Sky
To the Loss of All, Lament and Cry
No, not allowing more to Die

But could our Talk be more Respectful?
Problem Solving more Effective?
Be more "ALL", more all-Reflective?
And most of all, be more Connected?

I suggest a Lesson from this Thread
I ask you to read, keep these words in your head
Or, better yet, write the words your brain led
Led you to "say", for a Peace "Jihad"

I appreciate that you asked, good sir, but STAR TREK - you may recall - belongs to (CBS/Paramount) us all. So, please ... by all means! Judith, a fellow Artist and the former Love of my Life, influenced me much more than she'd intended, though, regarding posting my own Art. She'd introduced me to a friend who'd owned his own Art Gallery and he was adamant - absolutely adamant - that one never post their original ideas on The Internet, lest they be absconded with. And though it's been a while now, I still keep that in mind, with everything I post online. Once you click ENTER, it is untied ... unbound ... with a life of its own.

I wish Jennifer could read that...and Remember. Maybe it would help. Very nice, 'Frakes.

Forgetting Myself

I wrote a poem, above, you see
A poem about nice words and deeds
I really meant the words I wrote
I try to live them, no misquote

I did a thing the other day
A thing that countered what I say
I wrote a mean and hurtful thing
Some stupid words from me, to bring

And justly so, I was admonished
When I got spanked, I was astonished
I had meant it clever and funny
But it broke rules and worse, made a "dummy"

I love to write on BBS
My first real online scribing fest
The things that we all say and do
The subjects, feelings, helpings, too

I screwed that up in being "clever"
Ask me before? I would have said "never!"
But, yes I wrote a childish Post
And with my words, it seemed, to boast

As I was showing how I Could
I did not think of if I Should
It really is not my Demeanor
My show-off morphed to something meaner

I am as sorry as I can be
A grade of "F" for that, for me
A lesson I will not forget
A not-nice side of me I met

Thanks for the kind words about my Ode to Kes! Kate Mulgrew thought very highly of Jennifer Lien and took exception to her dismissal, especially how it came about. Other cast members expressed similar sentiments in past interviews, adding how lovely Jennifer was and how sweet. Then Lien's in the headlines, every so often because of some foolishness, when it didn't have to be that way. And it still don't. Making mistakes is part of Life's imperfections ... as your own poem reflects. We're supposed to Live & Learn ... The Human Condition and all that. Am I right ...
or am I right?!

Mandy, here I am, praying to you, again
I've met another woman, her name's Perin
I won't bore you with the details of how I met her
But it was on Earth, in England, at a Marks & Spencer
I needed Y-fronts, but had never shopped there, before
Found a sales lady & asked when they were getting more

Perin said she didn't know, she just sold their wine
Falling in love was the furthest thing from my mind
Even now, with you - somewhere - beyond the grave
I wonder what you think, about the way I behave ...
So, go on and strike me down with Bendii Syndrome
If you really don't want this woman living in our home

Because she said our bedroom looks like a bordello
Put in new carpeting and had the walls painted yellow
I would've stopped her, but I was away on a peace mission
I almost dumped her, because of this ill-advised decision
It's not a perfect world and, perhaps, she's not the perfect fit
But when a Vulcan is over 200 years old, he cannot have his pick

HIjol, I have been working on my STAR TREK Poetry Lesson Plan, and Worksheets - completed with a #2 Pencil - ready to be turned in and graded. Here is my first attempt towards the new aesthetic: non-Star Trek fare based on the sci-fi movie Evolution ...

'Frakes, you have successfully melded jargon, Shakespeare, StarSpeak, Symbols and The American Scene into a meaningful LoveRhyme!

Grade: A-

If the dude was Dr. Malcom instead of Mulder, it would have been an "A"...

...but, that's just me.

To Tell a Tale of Love,
These Days
Takes more than light and
Airy ways

Both "Acts" of Love
Are complicated
The Facts of Love
Some Fabricated

No one will Argue
With Love's Pleasure
It's just the Pain
For added Measure

So, go ahead and Tell
Your Tale
Let us know if
Love Prevails

Pleasure, Pain, and
In between
Love delivers
You know what
That means.

The love of Ian Malcolm & Sarah Harding was hardly convincing. I'm not sure they even kissed, though they called each other "Babe," a lot. Anyway, I just remember her accusing him of being Old Fashioned & Antiquated in his Chivalry - to which I took exception! Ellie Sadler had much more chemistry with Dr. Malcolm, in their movie ... and she belonged to another! In Lost World, the beautiful, blonde, competent paleontologist has been transmogrified into an incompetent, unbalanced redhead, but never mind ... it's another pale figure in khaki shorts that Ian has a ... hankering for. But that's another story. This one involves the pressure that Men are often put under, by the women they love, to take a gambit on which they're not very keen ...

Premium Stuff! :guffaw:

As certain as I am that there are not HIjolatopses running around out there, one never knows...

Chaos Theory

Man thinks he knows where each drop goes
Precious LifeFluid, dynamic in its flow
The Seminal Point of Theory Chaos
Eloquently shown on Ian's Manus

One drop goes the way it flows
Another hoes down different rows
Good Doctor quotes this streambed true
Did random drops carry "down the flue."???"

Instead of Trojan, "Ingen" "jackets"
Tightly fighting, come in packets
Even though the Gender Uni
Nature finds a way, so screwy!

So Come with us, and will show
The Spunky Malcom Chaos Flow
What Ellie thought was goofy tricks
Was Mathematician pick-up licks!

oh --- I have to say..

This is the poem that is poetry ... this is the poetry ===

this is a four letter word that starts with "t" and ends with "s"

the power ball has more balls --- random thoughts but now where do we know now ===

and ok I will let .. the poem begin..

sleeping---

I wake to my minds wander
I wake to the bloom of doves
I wake the open skies lights
I am awake but know nothing

I am who I know I can be but
I am Now never real in the me
I am what is and is not what's
I am in and out of me and you

I am you today because I Know
I am you just for a moment and
I am you when you know my me
Me and you are we and who but ---

they are not here they are there
they are there in their way of air
the air is breaking wind from sky
the wind is my life gone so far by

bye for now. by the way we go on
bye for then, as it is when we are on
bye beyond the tracks of trek where -
No one has gone before -- or after ever...

Chapter 17 -- "She Used To Be A Handfull"
(An Excerpt from William T. Riker's Memoirs)

"Ro's so much more easy-going, now
And people ask me how
Such a metomorphosis could occur
What did I do to her?
Oh, if only the inquisitive knew
Inhibition found no refuge
Her most intimate dream and fantasy
I was willing to be
When Ro left, she was starry-eyed
... and so satisfied
Even her girlfriends saw the change
She'll never be the same
Because I know I changed her life
God only knows where she is

... tonight."

resist and you are assimilated
confer and cooperate and you and your stuff is ---- assimilated
the voices are everywhere inside and out
speaking as the collected will get you nowhere
logic has no resolve but futility
critical meanings are lost to now.
what does did what did does.

unimatrix one is affirmative again.
The matrix is neo-borg surf noises
Anti-matrix inversion can deflect thoughts but not sounds
subversive tv signals breaking to the very structure of time space
none the less nothing is a matter of sorts.

this farce is a far call from things within or without
brake the borg down and they are just cellphone implants
recreate the realities of fantasy as starwars makes a visit to this galaxy
take the visual blog the web of time breaks thru the fever.
right now.

done did do dosey doe... or so.

think sees skies and far horizons
Hears the "music", skyline rising
Looks afar but sees up close
The world is here, at its utmost

A thought for think, it occurs to him
When we know us, we know of him
Astral travelers, atmosphere
He and we travel far and near

He knows of things, but more can see
The Us and Him and He and We
He hears and senses differently
But is content with re-ality

Today, the Now he speaks of, clear
Another Time e're not so dear
If those around can grok his line
Communication, mystic line

think knows the Trek, it is on track
Recognition, farewell tack
Into his wind and sky and space
The goodbye hello face to face

2Takes is one more than needed
To tame a Ro, so well and seeded
Riker Id and Ego flows
Ro, her SuperEgo goes
Did she finally kneed her dough?
And bake him from a rank to beau?

Ro, Sinuous, but Command Ready
The Chronicler 'Frakes so tells us, Steady
Takes speaks of metamorphosis
But Will seems more intent with Kiss

Starry Eyes and Girlfriend Feedback
Kiss and Tell's in Ro's Backpack
She got her deepest, fondest wish
Then StarSlipped out, not Riker's wish...

...still, Frakes aches.
