Ridiculous sex with a candle ghost isn't boring. It's stupid, but not boring.

Ok, fine, I'll give you that. I can't really argue with how awesome candle ghost sex is.

Beverly Crusher was a major part of Picard's life. It makes sense to have her in PIC. She's the one main character who wasn't mentioned or referenced in the first season, aside from Wesley. She's conspicuous by her lack of reference or mention, and remains unaccounted for. IMO, there's a story-reason behind it. I'm not saying I think she's dead (like I thought before), but maybe there's a kernel of truth in the AGT Future where something happened between Picard and Crusher. Not necessarily marriage and divorce, but something.

It would certainly make sense to bring her back given her history with Picard, but I still don't think they should do it.

Given that the reason Muldaur left the show was because Stewart didn't along with her, not terribly likely.

The main thing Pulaski has going for her is that she had more of an arc in one season than most of the main characters got in seven years.

Crusher, by comparison, got really underserved by the writers, which is a shame. But I mean, Chabon gave Troi one of her best episodes ever in Nepenthe, so I don’t see why they couldn’t do the same for Beverly.

I don't know much, and might be misremembering. What I'm finding with a bit of quick browsing is that she left because she didn't find it a good experience and felt unwanted by the cast. Pretty sure, though, that I've heard that Stewart specifically didn't get along with her.

Muldaur was treated horribly by some cast members, including Stewart. Michael Dorn was a fan of Muldaur though.

Most of the other cast members were jealous she had a better billing, a higher salary and a more comfortable uniform than they had.

I doubt Diana Maldaur would come back as Pulaski she said once in a interview for the Star Trek behind the series book that came out for the Star Trek 50th anniversary I read a long time ago she wouldn't be interested in doing Star Trek again after being in season 2 and not enjoying being there because of not getting along with some of the TNG Cast.

I've been rewatching TNG and given how close Picard and Crusher were, her absence was certainly felt in the first season of Picard. I like both Pulaski and Crusher but feel that a Crusher return would make more sense. Given that there are many characters we've yet to hear from, I'd quite like a Starfleet based show set in the Picard era. Given the season lengths, I don't know if Picard is the right vehicle to feature a ton of reunions. Would love to see Kate Mulgrew back as Janeway in some form though.

I liked the backstory For Picard and Beverly Crusher in the series and hope that will be explored more in season 2.

There are so many stories around Muldaur/McFadden that it's hard to get to what actually happened.

There certainly seemed to be resentment against Mudaur for several reasons - she was getting paid more than the rest of the cast, she had replaced their friend and she kept forgetting her lines to the extent that cue cards were required.

I liked Pulaski. I liked Crusher. Though early TNG was very Picard/Data centric.

Bringing Beverly back in some capacity makes sense given her importance to Picard. She was married to his best friend. He loved her. They were married in one timeline. They were telepathically linked. She was his closest (only?) true friend on
the Enterprise. Other than Guinan. They ate breakfast together.

I have no problem bringing her back. We did Data, Troi, & Riker. Beverly makes sense. More central to Picard than LaForge or Worf. Tasha is dead. Muldaur is out. That leaves Whoopi.

Michelle Hurd also posted a picture with a name card and a notebook saying she's glad to get back to work with the Picard cast. This is good news about season 2 finally being in production at long last.

So this is probably going to be a slow year for Star Trek (I think we'll get Prodigy and season 2 of Lower Decks but that's it) but 2022 should make up for it rather nicely.

We waited more than 12 years for new Trek on TV between ENT and DSC. We'll manage.

It will be interesting to see what release order they go with.

Even though Season 4 of Discovery has a head start, Discovery is now a 13-episode show. PIcard and (I think) Strange New Worlds are 10-episode shows. Thus all three could wrap up filming at roughly the same time. So they'll have to decide in postproduction which series to focus the shared resources (VFX, scoring, etc) for the earliest release.
