Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

as do i at this point I'd rather have her show than picard to be honest

Hadn't considered this. I had preferred a Riker/Troi series instead of Picard Season 2. But I could go with this over Picard Season 2 as well. I think ST: Picard should've been a limited series, truly the Logan for the character.

On Jeri Ryan's twitter page she had someone asked her which she enjoyed playing 7of Nine the most on Voyager or Picard best and she said Picard. Because she liked showing Seven had emotions and wanted to see more of her characters story explored in season 2. She says she hopes can tell fans soon when filming season will begin she doesn't know right now.
Is Seven a regular now or still 'special guest star'

I don't know she didn't mention that when I read her comments on twitter.Or the article i read on trekmovie. We'll just have to wait and find out if there's news about it soon.

Judging from the season finale, she appeared to be joining the crew:

Yeah, I expect Jeri to be part of the main cast from here on out unless Seven is written out of the show.

I doubt she's going to say anything about it (she knows that every word out of her mouth gets blasted to the press).

Not saying she's lying, but to be fair there is absolutely no scenario where she's not going to say Picard since she's still involved with the show.

I think she's speaking the truth (she's done more in five episodes of Picard than she did in four seasons on Voyager).

No catsuit, no corset, no last-minute forced romance ... I'm sure she's thrilled. (At least, I would be. )

She could simply have said "I can't decide" or "I liked both for different reasons". She could have chosen a diplomatic answer but nope. And given what she had to endure back then (catsuit, tensions with Kate Mulgrew etc etc) I can totally see why she really prefers PIC over VOY, tbh.

I'm pretty sure Ryan's mother was fighting cancer while she was doing VOY, also. Can't have been a fun time. But yeah...between the catsuit, jealous primadonnas, and an ill mother, it's pretty easy to imagine why Ryan would prefer working on PIC.

Yeah, also just being able to act like more of a normal person must be nice. I always thought the Borg monotone personality in VOY was a waste of Jeri Ryan's acting talents (though she still did a great job with it).

Jeri mentioned that about the stiff borg personality and showing almost no emotions on Voyager was something she mentioned in one of the interviews that gets hard to do when you want to show more emotions for her character. I read about recently she liked showing Seven had had emotions and acted more human in Picard. That she enjoyed that alot in the five episodes she did for season one.

I forgot all about Mulgrew!

Stewart was asked at one of the premiere events which Number One is his favorite (Riker or the dog). He struggled with it a bit, and then said... the dog. I'm sure it's just because he was promoting the new show and he likes dogs, and it never eaver would mean that he doesn't like Riker just as well, cause they really can't be compared like that.
