Is Laris really Romulan?

Maybe Romulans live longer than Vulcans?

Maybe she goes into hibernation later on, so that she's there in the future where she is supposed to be?

If she's an android, that totally fucks with season one.

I think the Watcher may be a new alien, maybe with shapeshifting abilities. So Laris makes herself look human in 2024 to blend and makes herself look Romulan in 2374 for Picard but she is really some other alien.

I was okay with the social commentary. That's what Trek has often been about. I like Rios's doctor friend. I'm liking Jurati a lot more this season and it's interesting to see how this Borg Queen is seducing her in a way, reminiscent IMO to how Krige's Queen operated. Picard so far seems superfluous. I get it, but at the same time don't, why he didn't stay on La Sirena and Jurati go out. Even as an android he's frail and can't do much when it comes to action. He didn't even seem to realize that Guinan had swiped his combadge.
Picard doesn't have the technical expertise to fix the ship, Juraty does.

I got an error code (124) when I tried to watch P+ on Safari, which is usually no issue. I couldn't load Picard or Discovery, but I have no clue what this specific error means. I googled it and none of the lists describe that particular error.

Picard is working on Chrome, but any suggestions?

Something else I'm wondering -- John De Lancie has said he's only in
six
episodes this season. Since he's been in all of the first four, we only have
two
Q appearances left? I can't imagine how that's going to work, they've barely done anything with him yet.

He hasn't been in that many unless you count recaps.

He has. He first appears at the end of "The Star Gazer." He has the big scene at the beginning of "Penance." He appears for one line in the teaser of "Assimilation" on the La Sirena as they go back in time. And then the final scene this week.

The "Assimilation" appearance is blink-and-you-miss-it, I could particularly believe that was originally supposed to go with "Penance", thus allowing Q to bookend that episode. The end point of "Penance" did feel very odd structurally, it kind of makes more sense if the episode break is the end of "Assimilation"'s teaser, rather than what we actually saw.

I guess El-Aurians are more prone to having parts of their memories erased by changes to the timeline and being left with only residual feelings and an ill sensation that something's changed.

Yeah, but that "strongly implied" rather than "outright stated" keeps it all internally consistent.

Though, I am going with something I posted earlier in the thread, that he is also an El-Aurian experiencing echoes of the prior timeline.
So I take it in Picard here now humans have genuinely invented computer technology instead of stealing and reverse engineering it from a future timeship?

In this Universe Supreme Admiral KIrk and his Vulcan slave Spock traveled back in time to get some whales to save the Confederation from the Space Probe. While KIrk was ordering Spock to learn colorful metaphors to better fit in he got annoyed by the Punk and ordered Spock to Nerve Pinch him.

At which point they go to the institute and killed Gillian Taylor and everyone their and stole the whales and brought them back to the future to save the Earth. At which point he then killed the Federation President for hiring those Klingons to kill him which failed when he stole their ship before loosing the Killerprise in battle. At this point he has now become President of the entire Confederation.

Oh, I like the challenge of making sense of that one. Truly one of my favorite activities as a Trek viewer is the fanwanking.

I got nothing yet, but I'll let you know if one comes to me. :bolian:
