I really enjoyed that, the world building around the Romulans is absolutely amazing and something we've sorely lacked throughout all of Star Trek when it comes to non-Federation species. Even the Klingons who have probably had more exposure than any other alien race have felt so monolithic until DSC.[/spoiler]

Really glad to see more Romulans, there always seemed to be so much unexplored hidden depth.

Elron really should have a bow and arrow instead of a sword
Why you would make him look so much like an elf and THEN name him Elnor-- I don't get it. He's an elf. A mean elf, but an elf.

That's the impression I was getting. I don't think I've seen Trek do that before.
I like that They are portraying some of the Romulans as real bad-ass characters willing to do whatever it takes to advance their own fortunes.
A Society that seems to relish the worst in their citizens.

Completely different from most of the Klingons we've seen.

Please, Battlestar Galactica had a beheading in 1979. Why do people want to meme Game of Thrones as being the be all and end all of everything?
Especially with how it ended. You’d think they would want to distance themselves from that

Oh gods, it's started! Only 4 episodes into a trek series and I'm already obsessing over inconsequential details. That Romulan phrase/greeting Picard keeps repeating; I know I've heard it or something very much like it before, but in Vulcan and I'm about 80% sure it was a Nimoy line. Was it something Spock said to Sarek? Something said in 'Unification'? This is going to bug me for a while...

Yep... Jolan tru.
It's essentially HELLO in Romulan.

Because GoT was one of the most watched TV series on earth and almost all Millennial generation folks would've watched it (until it melted down in its final two seasons).

Sadly few younger generation folks would've watched the original BSG - although many would've seen the New/Ron Moore's BSG.

Full disclosure: I did watch both original and New BSG, but what do I know? I'm a Gen X, not a Millennial ;);)
