Have you ever made a series of grandiose promises to a large group of people including friends and coworkers who had previously depended on you and trusted you, failed to deliver, then disappeared from their lives leaving a mess in your wake?
Perhaps Zhaban knows him better than he knows himself. It's an unexpected choice to have Picard hanging around in a re-creation of the chateau.
He just said in the last episode that he never felt at home there and desperately missed being in space.
I think you missed the part where the Emergency Hospitality Hologram said that Zhaban sent it.It is odd that after saying that he tried unsuccessfully for years to feel at home there, that he would want a holo-replica with him on the ship.
Best be careful, that really tall pedestal you've got yourself on is starting to teeter.*grammer
That was about Raffi. If they havent spoken, they havent spoken. We all have had that happen. She's a grown up, and she can take care of herself. As far as promises made to the Romulans, he is not the one who decided to cancel the rescue attempt, and everyone including the Romulans would have known that. He can feel bad about that, but they decided to write this as being every ones fault but his.
Why can I only like this comment once?"Don't blame me, its someone else's fault," is not what a leader preaches.
Also.... can we lose the incest? It's boring and does nothing for the story. Maybe if it wasn't so obvious and over the top. Eh, it's bad.
What does Captain Bateson have to do with this?
I believe the number stated was 900 million given the Earth is presently at 7 billion, I'd say they had largely gotten the planet evacuated before the supernova hit.Picard threw a fit and went home to mope while hundreds of millions of Romulans likely died.

Duh, derp and confound it!We've been told it was 900 million that needed to be evacuated.
It is bizarre because you're complaining about a thing pretty much no one else has a problem with. Stewart's performance is pretty much universally lauded. It is not that you cannot disagree, but it shows that you are so massively out of sync with the general public that your opinons just become completely unrelatable. This still isnt a substantive answer.
But, even if I was "bored by Patrick Stewart", which is not exactly what I said, why would that be "bizarre" and "fucking bonkers"? If you are bored by Sir Patrick, why watch ANY drama? WTF does that even mean? This is the craziest take I've ever read about this show or ANY show. Ever. If you don't like this or his performance here, why watch anything? Whoa.
As it happens it is possible to think many dramas are far superior to ST: Picard. Yeah, I know. That's insane thing to say. It is not that Stewart is inherently boring, but the show is. Centering on the oldest, slowest, lowest energy character contributes to the already glacial pacing of the story. It doesn't have to be that way, though. Which was the point. This could be better.
Ive given these episodes 5/10, 5.5/10, etc. Not 0/10. They aren't unwatchable. But if I'm wasting my time, it is my time to waste, so don't worry about it.

Why are they unrelatable? IDIC doesn't apply to just opinions I agree or understand. It largely is about interacting with ideas that I find rather odd or even opposite my own.It is bizarre because you're complaining about a thing pretty much no one else has a problem with. Re: Q
Do you really think a deus ex machina would improve the storyline?
Well, the Qowat Milat is said to only take up hopeless causes, and what would be more of a hopeless cause than being open and honest in the heart of the Romulan Empire?First let me just say, "Romulan Warrior Nuns". Assassins who hate the Tal Shiar. OK. I mean I love it but how the heck did the Romulan government let that stand?

It's very clear you don't understand what it is to be a leader. Picard took 15 years to realize that he failed as one and how, as we are being shown in this series. That's the message that's being delivered episode after episode. You don't like it, fine. But it's there. "Don't blame me, its someone else's fault," is not what a leader preaches. They take responsibility for their failure to hold things together when the going got tough.
