Ask Q for help? Hasn't Jean Luc been humiliated enough?
One man's humiliation to save millions.. To quote Garak: "I'd call that a bargain."

You're bored by Patrick Stewart. That is just fucking bonkers. Some of the criticism for this show I'd understand, even if I wouldn't agree, but this is just such a bizarre take that there really isn't much to say. But if you feel that way, seriously, just stop watching. It is not for you, and neither probably is any drama aimed for human beings.
That Q is absent is maybe the darkest, most foreboding aspect to this whole thing. It's like Picard is not even worth the trouble anymore. I'm pretty sure that the most prominent sign that this is the most hopeless of times is that Q can't even be bothered

jean Luc Picard is no Garak, that's for sure.
What exactly do you think Tapestry, & All Good Things... are? I'll grant you that Q's idea of help is troubling at best, but no one can deny that ultimately the only thing Q was doing, coming around so often, was what he considered as help to an evolving race. The guy is literally obsessed with enlightening the human race, & specifically Picard, for whatever reason... except now. He's got nothing to say? That's grimShowing up to help is not what Q has ever been about.
But he is, Picard's sin here is not one of Action, but rather of Inaction. He. Gave. Up.
He didn't continue to fight for the Romulans. He abandoned Raffi. He's not redeeming himself for what he did, but rather what he failed to do, by choice.

I'm pretty sure they had this stuff worked out long before filming the first episode.Behind the scenes:
"Mr Kurtzman! We finished the set for Picard's study at his vineyard!"
:shows it to him:
"Wow! This looks fantastic but... How much did it cost?!"
"Well... er...."
"You realize we're here for only three episodes and the rest of the show mostly takes place on the ship right? We're going to be way over budget!"
"Well... How about on the ship Picard uses a holodeck recreation of his study at home instead of a normal room on the ship?"
"Brilliant!"

He's too busy bothering Superman in a different reality. What exactly do you think Tapestry, & All Good Things... are? It is odd that after saying that he tried unsuccessfully for years to feel at home there, that he would want a holo-replica with him on the ship.
y years, that is not "abandoning" you or you "abandoning" them. That was one of the more bizarre bits that they wrote in. We all have had people we were once very close to but dont see or speak to much anymore. There are alot of reasons for that when it happens. None of us need to be "redeemed" for that.
This episode I liked the least so far. Not great, not terrible just meh....I actually got a little bored for the first time.
It was ok...I wouldn't mind the slow pacing but don't we only get a total of 8 episodes? This show is far better for binging then week to week in my opinion, partly because of the pacing....
I didn't see anyone else trying to incorrectly correct someone's grammar...
10 episodes. And feel free to wait a few weeks so you can binge.
