I'm curious why Romulan former Borg have a more difficult time recovering from assimilation, it must be related to the reason Romulans hate AI so much.
The Romulan ex-Borg Voyager encountered didn't seem 'disordered', so either the writers have forgotten that...or there was something specific about that particular ship and crew that caused their condition now. It was after that crew were assimilated that the cube became separated from the Collective, yes? This is part of the central mystery of the show, to be unfolded as the season continues, I guess.

That could've been the guy Zhaban hit with the wine bottle.
But Picard's shot blue bolts, the others shot orange bolts...

I'm a Muenchner Kindl (born in Munich) ;)
... and it appeared to me that Jean-Luc's weapon was in a holster hanging over the back of a chair, not hidden.

Not if you have the ability to Terraform planets and cheap reliable FTL. Even today we know that Earth-like planet are common.
Would she accept and want to emigrate to Planet Nowhere though? I don't suppose everyone would accept a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to became a land owner on the newly colonized frontier thousands of lightyears away from Earth just because it's larger than what's available in the home counties.

Everyone gets what they want in the Federation’s perfect socialist society because of near unlimited recourses, right? It’s supposed to be a perfect utopia to the point even Sisko says so.

What right would anyone have to deny her request for a free estate? She already gets free food, water, clothing, shelter, drugs, basic housing. She is enjoying the ultimate universal basic income, Federation style.

If she wants more, what does she have to do in such a government set up this way?

"You look out the window of Starfleet Headquarters and you see paradise. It's easy to be a saint in paradise, but the Maquis do not live in paradise. ... "
Does Paradise = Perfect Utopia?

I think the writers forgot that. They explicitly said "These are the only Romulans ever assimilated". Which ex-Borg are you referring to, I don't remember any Romulans, was there one in Unamatrix Zero?

Star Trek hasn't been a moneyless society for a long time. Remember that time Sisko bought some land? And yes it was on Bajor, but Sisko doesn't get paid by Bajor, so he would have had to have used Federation credits to buy it. The again his son had to borrow money from Nog to buy a baseball card...

In short the whole money thing is something we probably shouldn't take too seriously.

I tend to think that Trek economics work the same way Clark Kent's glasses conceal his secret identity. It's one of those things you don't want to look at too hard. :)

Me, I generally stick my TOS novels out on the wild-and-woolly Final Frontier, far from the "utopian" Federation, so I don't have to worry about the whole "no-money" business. Bring on the smugglers, merchants, pirates, and hardscrabble miners!

Yeah, Voyager was in the DELTA Quadrant and supposedly the first Star Fleet Ship to get there.
Don't remember seeing any Romulan Ships zipping around.

"Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space." - Douglas Adams.
