Okay. I'll just forget all the commanders I know of from my 21 years in the USAF/USAFR -- I retired when GWB was president -- that got fired from their commands but not discharged and simply take your word for it.

Thanks!

I kinda figured most of those weapons belonged to Laris & Zhaban.
The only one that didn't appear to be Romulan was the Phaser that Jean-Luc pulled from the holster on the chair.
Someone here (maybe) said that Picard looked surprised to see the phaser there, but when I watched it again, that wasn't so. His look was more like, "There it is, right where I put it!"

I'm sure dismissals have happened before with other Presidents.
But I'm also sure none of them were even slightly as Publicly Vindictive as the latest have been.
That alone proves just how unfit our current President is to lead this country.

And to have a subordinate practically admit that it was Vindictive by adding the phrase "We're just flushing the pipes" just goes to show how low this Administration has brought this Country down.

Yeah, that was me.
I rewatched it also, didn't realize with the first viewing that the phaser he pulled was in a holster on the chair.
It was Laris that grabbed the romulan weapon out from under the table.

There's a crapload of stuff going on in that scene that is going to take me a few viewing to take all in.

Check out the rift between MacArthur and Truman.

MacArthur was removed for contradicting the stated policies of the government and for challenging the constitutionally mandated chain of command. Military classes on leadership teach how MacArthur was in error.
thx - that kinda gets forgotten

This is neither the time nor place to continue this discussion, but ...
You're trying to compare Apples and Oranges with that and failing miserably.

MacArthur publicly defied Truman and was chastised for it.
Vindman was doing his job and was subpoenaed by Congress to testify.

And his brother, who had absolutely nothing to do with the investigation was also escorted out of the White House yesterday.

If you can't see the difference due to your apparent blind following of the extremely amoral man in the White House, then this conversation is over.
Have a lovely evening.

I’m inherently apolitical, thanks for trying to disparage me as a means of an ad hominem instead of addressing my error in logic.

And it was an error in logic, at least I’m willing to admit my fault and haven’t resorted to attacking the other person.
