It's funny how everyone forgot that Engage was Pike's catchphrase in The Cage, but now became associated with Picard and Discovery changed Pike's to Hit It.I like how Raffi is sooo "OH PLEASE" when Picard does that.

You havent factored in the gravitational pull of the black hole from which not even light can escape, remember this singularity isnt in a system nearby, its actually at the heart of the Romulus system, it would rip everything apart relatively quickly and trying to escape from it after it has formed would be highly unlikely.Actually no. Converting their sun to a black hole by itself wouldn't rip the world apart. It would go on orbiting the black hole just like the sun so long as nothing disturbed its orbit.
Of course, it would soon enter the mother of all ice ages - and then the air would start freezing out - but you'd have a good deal of time. Earth would take approximately a year to get to -73 degrees Celsius, for example. So while there isn't plenty of time, there's time enough to get people offworld, and even have some survive in underground habitats (provided they had a power source). Maybe even undersea habitats if Romulus is geologically active enough to keep the water liquid at the bottom of the ocean.
Who's up next to humiliate Picard with his actions?
The gravitational pull of the Black Hole would be the same as the sun it replaced, so no.You havent factored in the gravitational pull of the black hole from which not even light can escape, remember this singularity isnt in a system nearby, its actually at the heart of the Romulus system, it would rip everything apart relatively quickly and trying to escape from it after it has formed would be highly unlikely.

A common question in physics classes is to imagine what would change if the sun were replaced with a black hole of the same mass, Raymond said. The answer is that nothing would change regarding the planets' orbits — if the black hole had the same mass as the sun, the orbits would remain the same. (Life on Earth would obviously suffer from the lack of light and heat in such a scenario, Raymond added.)
Yeah, Picard had kind of a surprised look on his face when he dove under the furniture and saw the weapon.I didn't get a good look at the weapons, but they looked more Romulan than Starfleet. Maybe Laris and Zhaban installed those as protection.
Vic Fontaine has probably been deactivated if AI has been banned. I'm guessing The Doctor, who'll be seen in Season 2, went into hiding.

I wonder if Oh's sunglasses were deliberately in the scene to show that she is a Romulan (Vulcan' inner eyelid anyone.?) and who or what Soji's mother is? Android too? Silly questions I know, but I still wondering...
There's nothing saying no other federation citizens had tried.he was literally the only Federationer even trying.
Maybe it was Captain Jellico.Who's the captain of the Ibn Majid who was killed in front of Rios? For all we know it's a DS9 or Voyager character...
My post wasn't meant to be taken that literally, it was poorly worded. I wouldn't be surprised if the sharpest minds of the Fed, unauthorized, were involved like Scotty. We know Spock and Scotty had to have hung out as Spock knew Scotty's transwarp beaming gimmick (which isn't mentioned at all so far here, but there's no way they could find that much power could beam out all Romulans anyway)There's nothing saying no other federation citizens had tried.
They'll reveal that just in time for the Riker apperance.Maybe it was Captain Jellico.

It would be a slower death certainly but they would not have long and the entire system would be pulled in and torn apart.
AI's haven't been banned, Synth's have.Vic Fontaine has probably been deactivated if AI has been banned. I'm guessing The Doctor, who'll be seen in Season 2, went into hiding.
Then the synth ban is ultimately trivial as we've seen plenty of holograms capable of doing physical harm (and more, as seen with Moriarty) and even holographic bullets can kill.AI's haven't been banned, Synth's have.
If Star Fleet shut down Computer AI's three quarters of the Feet would be useless.
They just need to name a character T'Bonz now...
