It's very obvious you either haven't seen it, are relying on someone else's shaded review of it, or are missing, painfully so, many of the points in it.
Give me a break, I'm a 3 year locked in (I got that deal last fall) Disney Plus subscriber who watched all 8 episodes, several multiple times. I like the show (mainly because I love Star Wars) but don't like the title character.

Look me up on theforce.net forums as sidv88 and see how many posts I've made about Star Wars. It's thousands over the course of 15 years. Accusing me of not having watched the show is absurd.

Stop accusing those who don't agree with you of not having watched episodes. Not a good way to make your argument.

It always seemed to me that every major Borg defeat could be construed as their total destruction if they were never seen again in canon. If Voyager never showed the Borg, we could have assumed Picard & Data killing the Queen in FC destroyed the collective permanently. If the Borg never show up as major antagonists after VOY: Endgame, we could infer that Adm. Janeway's virus that dismantled the Queen destroyed the collective permanently. If the Borg show up in a future Trek and then get handed another major defeat and never show up again, we can infer the collective was destroyed permanently. This cycle can be used ad infinitum if the writers keep hitting a creative wall and need a familiar villain as a crutch.
But also shows that the Borg are either bad in their programming to know that their next attempt against Starfleet will not end well, or they're dumber than a bag of hammers.

I gave multiple options, it seems you fall into the later one being that you didn't understand it.

The Borg are a lot like Blofeld in James Bond films. One failed plot after another to take over the world and they never seem to learn from their previous mistakes. They just alter their appearance a little, find a new base of operations somewhere and never kill the Starfleet heroes when they have the chance to win.

I'm out if they have a base in a volcano in Japan or the top of the Whyte House Hotel in Las Vegas...

I think it's more like I understand what the writers are trying to say with this character but don't find it a realistic portrayal or reflective of real life.

It's like reading a speech by a politician I disagree with. I understand what he's saying but don't agree with any of it.

That is what happens when the one rule of your existence is: you aren't allowed to kill the hero(es).

And as a woman, can we stop with the men fucking a woman to get information off of her?

let me state one thing:
getting information never was my motivation

True but people don't understand how destructive an idea like Section 31 is especially the DS9 writer who treated them like cartoon villians. Section 31 is actually IN the charter of the federation. Writer are basically saying that they have no confidence in the ideals of the Federation and there we are going to create this genocidal secret police to do BAD things to keep the Federation going. If the Federation is willing NOT compelled to do bad things then there is no moral reason for it to exist. The Federation or no better than the Romulans or the Cardassians. That's Picard argument. If the Federation isn't morally superior what is the point of the Federation.

what did thad founding-father-of-the-federation-dude do during the xinti problem again? in my book johnny archer singlehandedly wrote section 31 into the charter

This was a pretty good episode. Not as good as episode 1, but it feels like one that was needed for plot reasons, and it was definitely not bad. I liked the movie music cue when Picard arrived at Starfleet HQ.

8/10

Except it was in the Starfleet charter, not the Federation charter, and it already existed before Archer was aware of it.

You keep writing like I'm saying all discussion of conspiracies must be banned thought police style. I never once said that. I said I don't feel Trek should be referencing real conspiracy theories as promoting them can be dangerous.

The link I provided was the first one that popped up discussing the FBIs position on conspiracy theories. Whether you like the article or not, the basis of it is factual. That is the FBI's view on them.

There are numerous academic articles also showing the same, in particular there was a good one from last January that found that mere exposure to conspiracy theories increased likelihood to commit crimes.

There's no reason to name a planet Nibiru other than to promote Nibiru. The planet could have been named Alpha Beta Omega 4. But it wasn't. They intentionally linked it to a real world conspiracy theory that has caused real harm despite people in this thread dismissing it - the Nibiru conspiracy theory has been responsible for people being financially ruined, attempted suicides, threatened suicides, threats of violence against astronomers, and perpetuating the idea that NASA is lying to us.

Star Trek is an allegory of our present. I'd prefer that that allegory not support real world conspiracy theories. That's my preference for the franchise. That's my issue with its referencing real conspiracy theories.

i would argue that when that planet nibiru is in a solar system far far away it certainly can't fuck up ours

Was the medical issue for Picard necessary? Isn't being in his nineties enough?

Considering we've established humans can now live to be nearly or over 150..no, there needs to be something introduced to indicate why Picard may potentially be facing mortality earlier than many, many others.

Remember McCoy was taking a tour of the -D when he was 147 years old and while he was clearly extremely aged he was still sharp mentally and able to get around with Data's escort.

I'm not sure the Commodore knows she's a Romulan spy. My impression, based on just one viewing, is that the Vulcan Commodore is up to some shady stuff but doesn't know that "Rizzo" is actually a Romulan disguised as human. In other words, "Rizzo" is some sort of double or triple agent fooling the Commodore as well.
Could be, but it seem to me that the way Rizzo referred to Oh as a ally would imply that she's an active part of whatever they are up to.
Good to see Peyton List as a sneaky Romulan spy.
I didn't realize that was her until I checked out the Wikipedia page. I felt a little guilty when I did since I've seen her on a ton of other shows.
