Oh I watched the 12 Monkeys all the way through just not on Syfy channel so I didnt really pay attention to where it was from, I streamed it instead.
Killjoys came very close to tempting me but I decided to stay away to ensure its survival, as soon as I start to watch it would have been cancelled, you are welcome.
Killjoys is very TOS in its tone, by the way, and feel free to catch it streaming as it does have a beginning middle and earned end.
I was also happy with Nightflyers, and I'm looking forwards to a new season of Wynnona Earp, which flirted with cancellation although not the fault of SyFy in its case. But I'll check out just about anything that looks like it might have something to offer me even if it's likely to be short lived and unfinished. That is the way of most scifi series anyways.

Enjoy. T-Rex's are more fun than Hadrosaurs, IMO.
I almost never rate an individual episode based on the rest of a series or franchise. I prefer to rate on what I view to be individual merits of the specific episode.

One of the reasons I dont tend to pile in on the threads like some is because Star Trek (Star Wars too) isnt as big a deal to me like it is to some on this forum, I dont feel the need to jump in for particular shows or episodes like its territory or a sports team to be defended, nothing wrong with it I just cant be doing it myself.... i don't even start adiscussionfight about enterprise as i don't want you to end as a corpse
I state what I think/feel about an episode, show or film both the negative and positive and can quite happily walk away even if others want to discuss/argue or pick a fight over it, I dont need to get the last word in nor do I feel the need to gain non existent points by correcting others spelling or details of a particular post which I see quite a lot of on here.
I just dont see the internet as a competition to be won like some do, talking in circles tends to bore me which is why I dont post much on here except in very specific threads and at very specific times, I first started on here in 2009 as Icarus I think (not certain) when the first of the new Star Trek films was released but after a few years with nothing new to talk about I ended up deleting the account as I dont like to keep accounts active that I dont use, I came back for Discovery of course.
Even though I work in IT at a senior level I have never been even slightly tempted to use twitter or instagram, I had a facebook account for years that I setup to help the nieces with their own accounts but ended up deleting it as I never actually posted anything.
I guess I just dont see the Internet as something I need to win, or perhaps the prize on offer is just not of interest to me.

I'm enjoying WYONNA EARP, too, which is supposed to come back . . . sometime.
This summer, I'm told. I guess IDW finally got some cash from somewhere to get the people back to work. Funny thing is, Bobo Del Rey somehow showed up on Altered Carbon. Not sure if it is supposed to be a shared universe now.
read your link (obviously not the books - i'm not that fast) - seems to be a fair adaption for tv.

I think the outsized moral inferiority of the Voth demanding the Voyager be destroyed pushed the episode into silly territory for me as one of my gripe about the show is that everyone in the entire quadrant had to be moral inferiors to Captain Hepburn and crew and were backed up by the universe itself. Picard at least shows that the universe isn't always on the side of the self-righteous.

Well, IMO, its OK to adapt golden age science fiction material in Star Trek because for the most part Trek has never moved past a golden age of sci fi sensibility and Asimov and co. stuff isn't very sophisticated. When you start trying to fit scifi written in the new wave era or later into a golden age mold, a noticeable oversimplification occurs adapting the source material. IMO, most Berman era stuff falls into this trap, though DS9 and its serial approach at times rises above such problems. DISCO and PIC has a similar advantage, although isn't entirely free of the franchise's demand that ideas must be simplified.
