Star Trek passings

I used IMDB to verify the Star Trek Episode, then used VLC to snap the picture off a DVD in my Windows 7 Machine with an optical drive. His scene is about 23 minutes into Part1. I entered his name in the DuckDuckGo search engine using image search to get the non Star Trek picture.

You convinced me to try duckduckgo as a browser on my Mac. So far, so good. Have been. using Chrome.

Kraig, according to online sources, the picture you posted shows Claig Hoyt w Doohan. Claig also did a voiceover for that episode for some device I forgot to write down. According to online sources, no picture exists of Bennie Goldberg in character or on the set. Online sources also confirm that he was primarily a boxer and after retiring, turned to acting late in his life, appearing on many well-known tv shows of the 1960's, including TOS, so his boxing images are the only pics available.

Clegg Hoyt was on Pike's crew in The Cage and is in the foreground. His scenes were reused in The Menagerie.

Clegg Hoyt wasn't a part of Kirk's crew, and never stood next to Scotty in The Menagerie, which is the only episode that Bennie Goldberg (who wasn't in the Cage) was in.

Clegg Hoyt is definitely the guy in the Cage photo. He's in Twilight Zone as well. They dubbed his voice in Cage with Bob Johnson (Mission Impossible tape voice guy) for whatever reason.

Then Imdb, Memory Alpha, and Google search are all wrong as to who Bennie Goldberg is or Clegg Hoyt is unless my searches are all done in an alternate universe.

Found this today... and it was not in Imdb yesterday where I found it today. Very odd. A list of credits for the BOXER/actor Bennie Goldberg. Check 5th title. The title says the episode came out in 1966 but it was filmed in 1964/65.
I failed five years of math, so after many calculations, I have to agree with you in one way. The Imdb listing above makes Mr. Goldberg about 45 in 1964 since he was born in 1919, which the actor next to Scotty could be based on appearance. If he WAS 45 and died roughly 20 years ago according to Memory Alpha, he would have been roughly 85 when he died, and according to IMdb, Bennie Goldberg is the boxer guy, and was 81/82 when he died, so my picture of him as a boxer is Mr. Goldberg. I'm getting too damn old to get the facts right and keep that facts right while trying to explain things.

IMDB shows Bennie Goldberg as having only one credit in Season 1, Episode 11, The Menagerie: Part I as an uncredited Transporter Technician. Bennie Goldberg and James Doohan were never in the original pilot The Cage. That means the transporter technician standing next to James Doohan is Bennie Goldberg. Clegg Hoyt's appearances in the Menagerie are uncredited archive footage (from The Cage) as Transporter Chief Pitcairn.
