Star Trek New Voyages announces new episode title

Any big names appearing in the new episode?

I hope not.

Personally, I would like to see the cast do a few more eps on their own, rather than have each episode become the "guest star big name of the week" type thing. As much as I loved seeing Koenig, Whitney and George, I feel more appearances by these legendary type figures could distract from future good stories.

Besides, if we keep having older stars playing their characters you have to come up with new time travel/ageing stories and any more would be stretching the bounds of credibility(as well as could become boring).

I suspect you will be pleased with "Rest and Retaliation" ;)

I can't say anything more about it, but I really believe everyone will enjoy it.

Dave is a talented guy--his work has the classic feel to it and the story outline appears to be quite engaging . . .

Aw, thanks. Greg Brodeur, with whom I've written several books, is also working on this. It's been great fun to work with him again. Some may know he's the plot behind Diane Carey's books (that's his wife). As well, this is very much a joint effort. The director, Kevin Rubio, and I have talked more than a few times and we're very much on the same page. The NV crew--especially James Cawley--is the same way. These folks have a vision of Classic Trek that is very in line with mine and Greg's, and it's a very cool experience to be working with them.

I'm sure that someone has already mentioned this up-thread, but congrats to New Voyages for making the front page of tvguide.com! (Although I do feel bad for Jeff Quinn... they're showing Ben Tolpin's mug on the front page, and his episode as Spock hasn't even debuted yet. :()

Well, technically cou could use a story of someone in the movie-era faced with a problem, that has a connection to something happening in the past, so you would have 50% set in the movie-era with the original actor and 50% being a flashback to the classic-era with the NV-Actor playing the role.

...and since the apparently have an Nichelle Nichols as Uhura storyline in the planning, i really hope, they come up with something to circumvent time-travelling or temporal anomalies.

^ I definately agree, theres only so many times you can credibly do the older character turning up on the Enterprise and interacting with the NV cast. As you say, it would be better if Uhura just stayed in a future time period and is part of a flashback/memories episode.
