Loved the opening sequence in this one. This has got to be one of the most beautiful and cinematic series of shots in the entire show to date …
While it was nice to see other members of Migleemo’s species, visit their homeworld and get a name for them, the story itself fell rather flat for me. The Klingon A-plot was alright, I guess. I’ve never been big on Klingon episodes in Trek and my opinion about them is only marginally changed by the fact that it’s a comedy. Still, the story felt like it had its heart in the right place and there were some really funny moments and callbacks.
Man, I love that they're throwing in details like this that I would never notice. It's generally a good sign when the people making a show are bigger nerds about the material than I am!

The title being a play on a classic DS9 episode but the redone titke sequence & A plot from TNGs classic "Family."
The A plot was good, the B plot a bit weaker.

I love how the theme was replaced with scenes of the farm.
Warp drive discovered to experience strange new meals! Love that!
I also love how their homeworld is called a 'nestworld'!
The near accident between the two Klingons on bikes... hilarious!
The Rite of Unending Pain is just like the ritual from TNG's "The Icarus Factor". And Boimler's solution was hilarious and awesome at the same time.
Tendi and Rutherford wearing bowties after making that meal... loved it!
"You play games with death, little warrior. I like it." That might be my favorite quote of the episode.
Dr. Milgleemo's story was great and a lot of fun, but the Klingon story was much stronger. Just perfection, that one.
This episode would easily be a 9... but I lean towards a 10, so I give it that. This was a truly honorable episode.

She's apparently in her mid 30s? Since this is around 2380 still, and she was a ensign for the dominion war era, which would start in 2373- assuming a birthdate of like, 2345-2347.... she's been around for most of the exciting stuff. I sometimes forget how squished the dates for TNG DS9 VOY are.... VOY ends in 2378, DS9 in 2375, TNG in 23-friggin-70....

Mariner would've likely graduated from the academy around 8 years before the first season, so she could've done an entire 170 episode Star Trek show and a movie before Lower Decks.

Mariner would have been born in 2350, given she was 18 in 2368, TNG's fifth season. So she's currently 31 or 32, I can never remember if the current year on this show is 2381 or 82.
