The official abbreviation being LDS was meant to double as a reference to the scene in TVH where Kirk misspells LSD, according to Mike at least. Lower Decks is a comedy show, so they went for the comedy option.

Anyways I only pointed it out because this is the first time I've ever seen anyone use LDX.

It should be.
No other Trek series uses a two letter abbreviation. Making it 3 keeps it consistent.

The official/Marketing CBS/Paramount abbreviations are: TOS, TNG, DS9, VGR, ENT, DSC, PIC and LDS.

I don't think we've been given an official one for Prodigy. But I guess it would either be PRO or PRD based on previous ones.

PRG would be more likely.
It has more of a phonetic sound comparable to the actual title of the show.

I like this reasoning. It's a clever one.

I've always thought that you just need to abbreviate the title as best you can. TWOK and TSFS break that rule, eventhough they aren't shows, so LD wouldn't be out of place in that context.

I go with PRO. It's more straightforward than "Perd".

I wonder how old Ma'ah is. He said he only heard stories about the dominon war. But the war only ended 6 years ago in universe.

Really fun episode. For sure Nick Locarno being the archenemy this season was unexpected.

As was Matiner being friend with him and Sito.

Hope Tom Paris saves the day this week.

Just to stir the pot on series abbreviations, I use KT for the Kelvin Timeline movie series and STI for Star Trek Infinite. I like that game, it’s just fun.
Honestly, Wheaton's over-acting would probably sit a lot better in Lower Decks than it does elsewhere.
I found him serene or sedate in PIC s3 and appropriately intense as Emperor Crusher in STO.
Edit: PIC s2

This raises a lot of questions about where Mariner was during "The First Duty", probably not part of the squadron but def close enough to be in proximity of that episode!
