Star Trek: Lost Scenes....

I remember when ordering something from the US would take anything up to three weeks, I think they've got it down to under two weeks and sometimes just the one now! All stuff is sent to Germany for some strange reason and it then gets sent to the UK from there! Why, I've no idea?

Lovely book. Dove right in. Having seen the Vault and looked at this book -- I really wish they had restored the Vault footage and made it available via branching in the episodes themselves. In the Vault they basically took priceless footage and showcased it in the worst was possible -- with large graphics, being talked over and material from individual episodes spread out over multiple discs and features. It would really have been so hard to attach all the CotEoF clips at the end of the episode?

Still in the effects section of the book, and I highly recommend it for fans of the show. It was well worth the $35 I paid for it.

Ordered my copy today. You guys’ positive reviews are makimg me look forward to this even more.

Thanks for clarifying.

Some material that involved the inhabitants of Beta III recognizing Sulu's landing party from the clothes they beamed down in was cut from the finished print. Unfortunately, we didn't have room for it in the book.

Interestingly, a significant scene where the clothing was discussed (a scene involving Spock, Kirk, McCoy and the character that would become Lindstrom) was removed as the episode's script moved from the first draft to the last, so an extensive amount of exposition was never filmed to begin with.

We'd love to do another book. We have approximately 90 additional deleted scenes from 45 different episodes waiting. And then there's more BTS and blooper frames...

Hope you do. A bit disappointed to not see the stuff with Kirk's nephew that was cut from the end of Operation: Annihilate included in this volume, and would love to see it in a second book.

I believe this book has deleted scenes from 37 episodes -- I wonder if the 45 episodes alchemist mentions are mostly overlapping episodes or scenes from the 40+ episodes not included in this volume.
The ones I missed the most that I know to exist are Rand and Kirk in his quarters from Corbomite, Rand, Lenore and Kirk from Conscience, McGivers and Angela from Space Seed, Spock and the beestung finger from World is Hollow and Kirk and Cap Tracey from Omega.
Of course ones I have no inkling of are even more exciting.

We knew before we put together the manuscript that we had too much material for a single book, so we set out to put together a "balanced" volume. And by balanced, I mean balanced between classic images that fans expected to see versus images that they hadn't seen before, balanced between known deleted scenes versus new ones, and so on. Ultimately, we had to make a lot of tough choices, so a lot of nice material got left on the cutting room floor... again.

We thought the Peter Kirk deleted scene from "Operation -- Annihilate!" was pretty well-known, so we chose to not include it. That freed up some space so that we could show a new deleted scene. If we do another volume, however, we'll try to include it.

Of the deleted material that didn't go into the book, about 1/2 of the scenes and trims are from episodes that are in the book. For example, we have more from "The Enemy Within," "Dagger of the Mind," "Court Martial," etc. The other half of the remaining material is from episodes that aren't featured in the book, e.g., "The Man Trap," "The Naked Time," "Obsession," etc.

Btw, speaking of the deleted scenes (and trims) in the book, there are more than 37 episodes represented. We tried to use images from them in the BTS and Bloopers sections, so there are a few there, too.
