And there are certain songs which are so sad that, if they come on my store's PA system, I have to go outside and wait till they're over because I can't function with them playing.

I reckon Zora has the potential to have some very different stories to Data now that they've got her Measure of a Man episode out of the way, as she doesn't want to be human, she wants to be a spaceship, and she's driven by emotions. Zora's also a different type of artifical life to the emotional EMH, as she was born inside the computer with no programming or personality given to her by others, and she's very different to Soji, who believed she was human. Lots of separate takes on what an AI could be.

We'll see how effectively they can do that if it's their intention. However, I anticipate she'll become just another character. Perhaps distinguished by not wanting to become human. But there's not too far down that road they can go before she becomes too "out there" to be relatable. In the end, she'll need to interact with the crew in a way that we can understand.

I just had a flash for how they'll resolve the season. Species 10C needs to mine to survive. However, it's too dangerous for their automated machine to do it because it does not understand other species that are different from 10C.

Zora will be the compromise. She can carry out the mining mission (while collecting whatever data she wants) and at the same time ensure the DMA doesn't harm any other species.

This was an interesting episode. It was underwhelming for the most part but had a strong ending.

The casino and fight scenes were kind of disappointing, they could have been done a lot better. Maybe this was due to this episode having 2 directors , which is very unusual.

Whoa, it really does have two directors credited! That's not just unusual, I think that's actually unprecedented for Star Trek, at least for the live action episodes.

The same way people who are LGBTQ+ identify with racial minorities who experience prejudice. You don't have to know what a nail shot into the foot by a nail gun feels like to remember that time you broke your foot and felt the extreme discomfort.

A couple of times Wil Wheaton really does look like he's about to lose it. If it's genuine, I don't know. It's one thing to be enthusiastic, but I'm surprised. I didn't think a TV show would be able to touch anyone that emotionally.

I love Disccovery, but it's not Interstellar... or the end of Titanic. What? Don't look at me like that! You cried too. Anyway, I'll be right over there!

I get moist in both eyes at the end of Somewhere In Time so I'm not the best person to critique someone else's emotional reactions to entertainment.

I cry at a lot of things in shows. The end of Cool Runnings, Monsters Inc. And Wreck it Ralph, among others, will get me every single time. I was mocked for crying when I was younger. I ain't standing for that any longer.
