Yes but wasn't she lying the whole time?

I thought she had the crew as hostages the whole time, hence why did Tilly and co. do the whole retake the ship thing?

BTW for all the stuff Tilly did do I thought they screwed her over badly for all her effort.

She did agree to give them the non senior staff as a good faith gesture to get them to agree to negotiate. If she hadn’t done it Vance wouldn’t have agreed to meet with her. She held onto the bridge crew for leverage.

How is Picard shooting an assimilated crewmate grey? It’s a case of self defense and necessity.

Oh..... Non senior staff OK I must have missed the line.

Picard's actions in First Contact were justified. I mean there was no way to save them by that time.

I still think Tilly got screwed over.

They sent shuttles with the crew on them to Fed HQ. So no.

Just the bridge crew. That's why they were the only ones (plus the DOTS) involved in taking the ship back.

The new uniforms reminded me of the Thunderbird uniforms. I was expecting their heads to start wobbling like puppets

I love the visual and sound effects they used for the Discovery’s phasers during the battle. Very TOS.

One more problem with the ending that has occurred to me.

They are going to report to the galaxy that they found the cause of the burn, and that it's not repeatable.

But that's not true. The *agent* of the Burn is not repeatable. But they reported that all you have to do to blow up all the dilithium in the galaxy is find its resonant frequency and amplify it into subspace. And now a lot of people are going to know that. And they are distributing dilithium to every planet they want to rejoin the Federation.

Given that Dr. Culber says that Su'Kal will no longer be dangerous once he leaves the dilithium planet, I get the impression that you need a massive amount of dilithium to be able to broadcast powerful enough waves into subspace to cause another Burn.

SU'KAL: What if it [the Burn] happens again?
DR. CULBER: It won't. Not once we take you from here [the dilithium planet]

So the only way the Federation's enemies would be able to create another Burn is either a) capture the dilithium planet in the Verubin Nebula, or b) amass a similar amount of dilithium themselves. Also, from what we've seen, the Burn was omnidirectional, so any enemy who tried this would have to not be dependent on dilithium themselves.

A rational person would not do this.

After this week in the US you are confident in villains rationality?

I'd be surprised if future seasons didn't have a subplot where someone tries exactly that.

A distress signal, modulated by a star, which became a hit in several cultures. One of the strangest elements of this season.

    Knew it XD

I was really expecting them to go in a more Battlestar Galactica direction with that.

That's actually an interesting point. Most Trek villains have either been trying to get one over on the Federation in some way or another, or personal reasons like Khan, we haven't really seen many villains who want to burn it all down just because they can.

What's going on in the world right now would never fly in a movie. They'd say it's too unbelievable.
