That being said, she comes across as surprisingly emotional for somebody socialised on Vulcan.
Why is anyone surprised that a human forced to supress their emotions as a child is now overly emotional as an adult? In real life emotional supression is terrible for humans and its not uncommon for children who are forced to supress a part of their emotional range to act out later in life.

I have a sinking feeling, given some of the creative choices so far, that origin of the burn will turn out to be some ridiculous mash-up of the remnants of Control and the future AI from Picard.

I really hope they don't do this but...

I don't think they are going to go there. The only AI we have now are Federation holos and Discovery's computer.

Oh and Enterprise rocks. It was great

I know what the word means. What does it have to do with Star Trek. Lol

An apt analogy to the sort of whining fans go through when faced with the slightest change to Star Trek.

Nerys Myk has it.

I was shocked in 1979 by the new look Klingons. It took me perhaps a week to get over it. I didn't need a "canon" explanation or to be told something was retconned. By the time I got the STTMP fotonovel, I didn't care.

I was nine years old.

For almost 25 years there was no explanation. People grumbled. People laughed. People theorized. No one said that there was a lack of respect for the fans.
