damnit, picard would have saved m5.
And that's why he's still the best captain.

Well, it also makes me wonder this now; let's say Discovery successfully got away from Leland while he was still alive. Now what? Now Starfleet has to deal with this all on their own?Not only that, they were fully committed to going to the future when he was still alive and well and freely roaming on the ship!
well, that's one point of view. let's just say i fully understand Q getting mad at him time and again. And that's why he's still the best captain.![]()
At that point, practically all the crew was still/again on board.
Going to the future let’s them live.
Blowing up the ship kills them all.
I‘d prefer option 1 as a Discovery crewmember.
it's tv - it needed to be solved this seasonAt that point, Control was dead, and all of the bad guy's ships were disabled or destroyed. They have literally all day at that point, no longer a rush at all. Take your time, evacuate, take anything you like, have a goodbye party if you like. All the time in the world.
That was my point about pacing, they needed to show them going into the wormhole BEFORE Control was totally defeated, as that gives them the thing to escape. No longer escaping once the bad guy is dead. It would be like Spock walking into the reactor in TWOK after the Genesis device had been safely disarmed. Kinda pointless sacrifice...
as far as star trek: discovery is concerned this is yeoman c. m. colt (link leads to memory alpha)
i don't think so - in my headcanon the cgi guys sit in some ex-airforce bunker with little to no direct overside - make-up department: not so muchMuch like the season one D-7, I believe this is just a disconnect between the writing and art teams.
The situation is quite different if your objective is to regain the control of preferably intact ship/station than merely destroy the whole thing.
And none of this gives it magic powers. It cannot do things the ship normally couldn't.
But the consciousness is the one angle via which they could have made this to work. It would have made a great trekkian episode if they had realised that the data has merged with the Discovery and it is now a sentient being. In the end it wouldn't have been about them not being to able to destroy the ship, but not wanting to kill a living being. This I would have bought.
