It's not weird at all. It's deliberately missing the forest for the trees and choosing to keep a hate-boner going.
That section was the highlight of the episode, quite honestly. At the same time, it was irritating as hell to me, because it included stuff that should have been said earlier.
For example, Stamets has a brother! This is great - he finally has an additional trait besides "gay, sometimes snarky, and can't get over his ex." However, it's revealed he has a brother in a letter he's saying goodbye to him forever, meaning the sibling relationship will have no further relevance. The scene would have had so much more impact if they had actually established the relationship earlier in the show - even if through a single holo-transmission. Without that context it's just a tantalizing hint of a character dimension that (absent flashback) will never be re-examined.
I missed it. I thought her vision was after the Enterprise fired. They could have edited that scene somewhat better.

Very scientific polls that people can vote in before the show even airs (who was it that gave this episode a 9 before it even aired?), prove once and for all that this is best TV show that ever existed.

That's really puzzling. And, you just know that if they didn't have those moments, there's be tons of complaints the other way.
Heartfelt farewells seem like such a natural reaction. And, we've gotten to know these crewmembers over several seasons now.

I think that works both ways though; I'm pretty sure I've seen lower rankings early in the day as well.
Is there a way to keep the poll closed until after the episode airs?
Surely you guys aren't surprised that on a Discovery discussion board that most people enjoy the series and, consequently, will give it higher reviews? Surely you're not puzzled by the fact that fans of the show will push back against criticism. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
While it's obviously fine to post criticism (so don't get your hackles up and drop an F-bomb on me again BillJ), just don't be surprised when you get pushback and that others in the forum like it more than you. Most people don't hate watch a series. They have better things to do.
These are just things to expect when you're a detractor in a discussion forum that attracts fans of a show. You're welcome here, but don't be befuddled by these things.
In the end, when you're feeling puzzled about it, refer to this wise comment below . . .

And at the end of the day, we are ALL Star Trek fans. Always have been, always will be. It's just that being a "Star Trek Fan" means different things for different people. That's why having these different opinions from different people heard is very healthy for the forum!

I tend to get a lot of pushback in certain quarters when I criticize "Gene's Vision" so this goes both ways.

I've seen no efforts to stifle dissent, personally. Taking critiques goes both ways.

Fortunately this forum isn't like that. Even those who enjoy the show have been critical of aspects. I enjoy the show but think the highest rating I've given it is an 8, maybe one 9. There are definitely some aspects I haven't care for, but overall I enjoy it.
I agree with that sentiment. But, criticizing the poll results, and thereby the opinions of those who voted in the polls, is not what you're describing. That's the equivalent of, "how can you possibly think that?!" It's not constructive criticism.
Others in this forum like the show more than you. Again, that should not be a surprise.
I have yet to see that. Hell, I almost gave up on DSC with the threat of possible Borg!
I'm just always amused by people who insist upon watching even if they don't enjoy it. Or, perhaps they enjoy different aspects than me...I don't know. I'm still trying to figure it out.
True, and you can count me in this group. I have openly criticized aspects of this show on this board, but I still enjoy it quite a bit. As you mentioned, that seems to be the general case here with many of the members. There are very few absolute apologists for the show on this board.
Just because I say I enjoy a show doesn't mean I like everything about it. Conversely, just because I might be critical of aspects of the show doesn't mean I can't enjoy it overall.
Are there things that bug me about DSC? Sure. However, I'm not going to dwell on those negatives so much that it prevents me from seeing the positives. There are things I wish were different about the show, but I still look forward to my Thursday night DSC viewing.

Just my own personal opinion, but I think that is the best thing that can happen to any forum. A bunch of people who love something excitedly talking about the thing they love? I don't think that sounds bad. But then I'm one of those weirdos who, if I don't enjoy something, I stop watching it and stop discussing it.
There is a difference between being fanboyz, being a hater, and being critical. I grade most episodes a 4 or 5 with some exceptions and I watch every episode. Is it the worst TV show ever? No, of course not. Is it the best ever, deserving a 9 or 10 every single episode? Well, in my opinion, of course not. Even Breaking Bad, the best TV show of all time (sorry GoT fans) didn’t deserve 9 or 10 for every single episode. But damned if it didn’t average 8 or more during its whole run (if I graded it per episode, which I didn’t). But that means some episodes were probably 10 some were 6, maybe lower. I grade Discovery what I do, and watch Discovery as I do because I know it can get better. I sincerely hope it gets better.
I just want to know what standard is applied so I know how people think it can improve?
