Also, this was the first time they ever said "prime universe". Until now it was just in the credits for Nimoy's Spock in ST'09.

Doesn't the fact that the E was caught in the BORG Sphere's energy trail give rise to an acceptable explanation?Logically Enterprise-E should have ceased to exist, same as logically the NX-01 should have ceased to exist with the Nazi Vampire bullshit. But they didn't. Maybe the fact that Enterprise-E prevented the changes in the first place prevented a grandfather paradox.
As Janeway says "My advice on making sense of temporal paradoxes is simple: don't even try."
Plus by the very nature of having prequels is dealing with minor retcons.

Would be a great way to reintroduce the ship after the repairs and perhaps announce a Pike/Enterprise show at the same time.I'd say that's almost certain - there's been a lot of talk that they've built and filmed scenes in an Enterprise bridge, which would fit perfectly with a last minute save in battle.

It's the perfect opportunity.
Yeah one of the most interesting points for me was when Michaels mom said that the red lights were not her doing.Have to watch it again a second time before offering an opinion. Hell of a lot going on, and the twist with the 7 lights at the end piqued my imagination. I've noticed that the coming attractions are good enough to almost wipe out the detailed memory of what you just watched and divert your mind to anticipating and figuring out what the heck is gonna happen next.
Thats the explanation they use in the film yes, but as we've seen there are no unified rules to time travel. There is no unified method of time travel.Doesn't the fact that the E was caught in the BORG Sphere's energy trail give rise to an acceptable explanation?
I understand why CBS would have a wait and see attitude but now that Spock and Pike have been well received it seems like a no brainer to me.I'd also note that given after the end of the next episode they'll only have visited four out of seven red bursts, there is a way they can visit three in the final two-parter, which is to have both the Discovery and the Enterprise splitting up and investigating one each - then coming back together at the end.
Which once again would set up very, very well for a Pike/Enterprise show.
Was this stated or seen somewhere specifically? I thought that Control was just modified by information gathered from the sphere. IOW, an upgraded version of itself, and not a total new program. The version of Control that "assimilated" Leland IS from the future. It used the wormhole from Mama Burnham's latest incursion to infiltrate the S31 ship computer. The "present" version of Control was destroyed earlier in the season.

Makes me think Michael will end up in the suit at some point or some other agency is helping.
None of what we are dealing with now is from the future, the future Control came back to try to help it's modern day self become fully sentient, but they stopped it when they spaced Ariam. The sphere data is also from the present, it is just all of the stuff that it experienced in the thousands or millions of years that it was around. Modern Control wants the data, because it can usually to finally become fully sentient.
Yes, and that explanation is specifically stated in the film, as I recall.Doesn't the fact that the E was caught in the BORG Sphere's energy trail give rise to an acceptable explanation?
I did find it odd that Georgiou was the first to say it. After all, surely the Mirror Universe is prime to her and we're the weird copy? But I guess she was using Starfleet/Section 31 terminology.Let the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth begin.
Maybe They all know that things turn out OK in the end and decide not to interfere?I'm still finding it really weird that apparently all of the godlike beings in the galaxy are somehow either defeated by Control in only 1,000 years or just don't give a damn.
I mean, where are the Q? The Cytherians? The Thasians? The Guardian of Forever? The Traveller's race? The Organians? The Prophets?
Perhaps in going over the data from the Reliant she sees that term being used in some historical report?I did find it odd that Georgiou was the first to say it. Control becomes so advanced that it outwits all of them?I'm still finding it really weird that apparently all of the godlike beings in the galaxy are somehow either defeated by Control in only 1,000 years or just don't give a damn.
