Once again its a pity President Archer didn't leave some kind of note in an emergency UFP archive "in case of universe threatening time emergency call Daniels" I mean, couldn't Daniels have left them a Captain Marvel pager or something?
must be hell when she drops it off at the cleaners
I have to give Mudd credit. His time crystal gizmo might have had less range but it was way more reliable.
I think its may be the first time since WNMHGB that they really show the phaser rifles punch harder than the type one and twos, also.
I think from Stamets dialogue last week that the Spore drive is still offline. He was having trouble fixing it.

Future Control messed up the Spore Drive so they still have to figure out exactly what it did.

Burnmum and Burnham having the same bio neural signature seemed like a pretty weak explanation early on in the episode. Things didn't get much better after that.
Not exactly the same, but close enough to fool anyone not checking for a relative of Michael.
(and remember, everybody thought Michael's parents were both dead)

That happens now with crime labs looking for suspects.
They often find that familial DNA can be close enough to be mistaken as a match.

Oh my, this show. So much nonsense.

There was a moment when I thought season 2 would be better. That moment is gone. Its actually worse.

I really dont like this red angel episodes saga. it is reminded me of Alias and scandal. Burnham at this point is sydney bristow and olivia pope all roled into one. it is getting more soap operish than star trek.

anyone remember this

He was probably goint into Dr. Nick Riviera school. Or maybe Dr. Zoidberg.
Hi Dr Hugh!

Well, I wouldn't say worse. I'd rather have this than the bloody mirror universe any day of the week, but it's a definite step down for season 2 after such a good first two thirds.

I've always found that just going with the flow, is the best way to really enjoy any form of entertainment.

Otherwise, why bother?

One can critique the Hell out of just about any TV show or movie now-a-days, but I figured out ages ago that that kind of mentality doesn't improve anything in the long run, it just makes one more miserable.

Oh yes, definitely. My dad is better in this than I, but I am doing my best.

I agree, but "flow" also means that, at least sometimes, expectations are met, otherwise the flow is too broken

It's a TV show, my only expectations are that it does stuff to entertain me, not be a logical thesis on creative writing.

I mostly turn my critical thinking off when watching anything that isn't meant to be a PBS or Discovery Channel Documentary.

sigh. another generic episode, I was hoping for a massive improvement after the disappointing red angel episode but looks like this is not the case. I swear the last 2 episodes so far has been CW Show level writing.

I also thought it suddenly felt like a CW show! Which is a vibe and storytelling structure I truly can't stand. All those empty, rushed plot complications, signifying nothing and meaning nothing but conveyed at maximum dramatic intensity. It's an awful style of series, probably the worst that currently exists. I would be so depressed if they're actually morphing this promising show, which I love so much about, into that worthless garbage format. I feel like I'm so ride-or-die for any Star Trek, but I did bail on Voyager and Enterprise, and I feel like this is the one thing that would break me from Disco.

I'm quite desperately hoping these are the transition pains of the showrunner swap, and not the new creative direction of said showrunner...

That's actually how it's been for the entirety of the series' run: text like the close captioning for the Klingons is embedded into the video on CBS All Access, but regular close captioning is used on Netflix.

I watch through CBSAA, and I've been amazed at how consistently my Klingon subtitles are blocked by the closed captioning "(Speaking Klingon)" superimposed on top of it.

Wow, so many hot takes about this episode. Perfectly fine to not like it, but it's not like there isn't bound to be episodes that don't flow as well in a season long arc. Practically any show that has an extended arc has an episode or two like this (and I also don't share the opinion that it was a bad episode by the way).
