Feh... They've been saying that since the Pilot.

And by that, I mean The Cage.

That space show with the guy with the pointed ears will never take off. It looks ridiculous.

Now let's watch that awesome new show where Jerry Van Dyke's mother is reincarnated as an automobile! That's real television!

Enjoyed this episode. It had really good pace.
It would be fun to binge watch this season but if you know all the answers to the mysteries it's not going to be an entertaining rewatch. The red angel is not responsible for the red bursts. Really milking this plot since episode 1.

Lesser known brother of Dick Van Dyke, the latter being a major figure in mid-twentieth century TV entertainment, with occasional roles in film (most notably Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang—two major Disney non-animated films in the sixties).

Everyone knows Dick Van Dyke. I hadn't heard of Jerry before this though.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was not a Disney film, although its songs were by the Sherman brothers, who also wrote the Mary Poppins songs. The "mother reincarnated as an automobile" was the subject of the mid-1960s Jerry van Dyke series My Mother, the Car. It didn't last too long.

Jerry was also very funny as the Dick van Dyke character's brother Stacy (who was a brilliant entertainer while sleepwalking but a totally inept one while awake) on several episodes of The Dick van Dyke Show.

I didn't realize that using references from film is now considered as acting like America is the center of the world.

Jerry was also known for being on the 90s show Coach with Craig T. Nelson.

Cool classic vehicle - but whoever wrote that thing had some serious mommy issues.

I have some questions. If the show is supposed to take place in 1965-66 when it was filmed, and the main character is the sameish age as the actor, how does the chronology work? If Crabtree is 35ish in 1965, how can his mother be reincarnated as a car built in 1928, which is before he was even born? I mean I am perfectly willing to accept people reincarnating as cars, but you cannot reincarnate as someone or something that was 'born' before you even died! That is just simple logic! Damn, and I thought Discovery didn't make sense!

the MOTHER was reincarnated into a car. The car had no person inhabiting it before she died and zipped in.

So that's really not reincarnation. Reincarnation happens at birth, so in a case of a car, that would be when it was built. It is more like the mother possessing the car.

He's probably most known to people today as "Luther" in the 1990s American TV series Coach with Craig T. Nelson. More recently (a few years ago) he had a few guest appearances in the TV show The Middle as Frankie's father.

Jerry actually played Rob Petrie's (Dick Van Dyke's) TV brother in several episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show. He passed away last year.
