Having Pike, Spock and the Enterprise this season is exciting enough and now we're getting a revisit to Talos IV. And who knows, maybe we'll find out why a visit to the forbidden planet carries the death penalty. What else can we hope for if they do choose to further explore the events set up in "The Cage"? Maybe something that sheds light on why the Talosians were on more friendly terms with Pike and were willing to take him back to live out his days after his accident? Or perhaps a visit from Vina? Could they also begin to explain the show's visual reboot itself? We're dealing with Talosians, time travel and a statement from the producers saying that this season will line up with TOS, after all. Or they could leave all that for another time, if ever. How much this serves as a follow-up to "The Cage" remains to be seen. Whatever happens, we're in for a real treat.
Now here's what we will get…
"Spock and Burnham head to Talos IV, where the process of healing Spock forces the siblings to confront their troubled past. Stamets desperately tries to reconnect with an increasingly disconnected Hugh, while Tyler struggles to shed the crew’s suspicions of him due to his past as Voq." - Memory Alpha
This has been a pretty good season so far and it's the first time in two decades that I truly look forward to Trek every week instead of just watching out of loyalty. We're at the season's halfway point. How has your experience been up until now?
