Section 31 is using 22nd Century Romulan tech it seems.

Remember in Enterprise, the Romulans had those holo drones.

Solid enough episode with some touching moments, but I felt it dragged a bit in places. I think the stand-out aspect was the score. Best of the series so far. Those cello thumps were haunting.

okay, three great episodes in a row was probably too much to ask for, but at least it wasn't 'New Eden' bad, just..okay, I guess

A half-jump is one for the books!

Just when I was wondering about something, it happened!

1/10. Terrible.

Oh man... I can't even.

Pros:

- Anson's performance as Pike

- 10 Million on SFX

Cons:

- Everything else.

Funny about the self-indulgent writing going on during Burnham's last monologue by the departing showrunners.

Fuck this show.

Fuck Harberts and Berg.

Good riddance jackasses.

Is that a Redeemer ship in the next episode? :)
So the Doctor is back. I’m sure someone is excited about that. Should have had Lorca. Would have been more fun.

Man Section 31 is so wrong here. Should have just said they were Starfleet intelligence and it would have worked way better.

That's something that's starting to bother me about this season – not "self indulgence" so much, but how the opening and closing scenes of the episodes are just there to remind us of the ongoing storyline but otherwise have no relation to or impact on the story of the episode in question.

This is I think three episodes in a row now where we get gravitas-laden speeches about how important Spock is, and how the red signals are this big situation, and blah blah, but there's no movement on that story at all. It's just there to keep reminding us that, oh yeah, Star Trek is seralized now, how about that.

Season 1 did it too, during the Mirror Universe episodes. They tried to convince us that the Mirror Klingons had some bearing on the Klingon war in our reality and it was dumb.

Outside of New Eden, they don't seem to have any idea of how to tell a story with a beginning, middle, and end that also advances the serial storyline. Then they paper over the deficiency with ponderious speeches.

I haven't read any of what you all have posted,so I don't know what anyone is saying.

What I do know is that's the best hour of Trek I've watched in a very, very long time. We all have different tastes, different views, expectations, etc. Well, this one met mine. Perfectly.

I'm not going to need to watch this one again to give it a rating. And I have yet to rate any DSC episode with this number.

I'm very conflicted about this episode. I actually liked the stuff that was happening the network, and as a skeptic about Culber's death, how they brought him back was "Creative" to say the least. I just can't get around Section 31 and Pike not knowing about Mirror Universe Giorgeou. I mean he knew pretty much everything about what happened to Discovery in Season 1, even commenting on Lorca, yet he doesn't know Georgeou is also from the mirror universe? He knows about Ash Tyler being on Quo'nos but he doesn't know about Georgeou? I find that really hard to believe. As for Section 31, I kept thinking about Inquisition and how Sisko didn't even know about them, or at least was really uncomfortable talking about them. Maybe Section 31 becomes an embarrassment for Starfleet, leaving captains who knew about it feeling almost guilty for being part of an organization that allows something like Section 31?

I gave the first two episodes an 8, Point of Light a 5 (Even though it should have been lower) and Last week got a 7. I think I'm going to give this one a 6. It's not as good as the first two episodes, it's better than Point of Light, and it's about a little lower than last week.
