Would you really want to engage a device designed to breakdown matter to the subatomic level and zip it across the distance of space when the place you're leaving seems to have twisted and manipulated the fabric of said space into something abominable and horrifying? It's a time of war, on a classified mission.
If the Klingons get accurate live casualty reports, they can figure out how to kill more UFP citizen/soldiers faster.
If a crewman is reported dead, all information about that death should be highly classified or misdirecting lies.
As far as psi-ops go, vocally reporting dead crew and lost ships that are not dead or lost can lead the Klingons into clever ambushes after they terminally misjudge force deployment.
