Star Trek Continues final Kickstarter???

^Yes. The guys at Mission Log were pretty good about noting these unique instances of intertextual referencing to other episodes when they did their run on TOS.

I believe it happened also in "By Any Other Name" when they refer to when Spock tricked the guard on Eminiar 7 into thinking they were in the midst of escaping.

KIRK: On Eminiar Seven, you were able to trick the guard by a Vulcan mind probe.
SPOCK: Yes, I recall, Captain. I led him to believe we had escaped.

Another would be Sulu mentioning the Horta incident on Janus VI during "That Which Survives".

The other night it was announced that STC's final fundraiser will be on Indiegogo instead of Kickstarter. It will take place in late February and early March and be called "Indiegogo Where No Man Has Gone Before."

Seems like these fundraisers would want to avoid using things that are identifiably "StarTrek" as the name.

I would imagine that STC won't move forward unless they have some kind of official or unofficial green light from CBS.

Guess I missed that announcement. Where was that posted?

Did he actually say on the radio this was there "final" fundraiser? If it is I wonder how much $$ they hope to raise.

Well, he did restate the plan to make 13 episodes total, so if you take the amount they spend on one episode and multiply by 6, that will probably be their goal.

If they overshoot that goal significantly, I guess there's hope they could make more than 13.

so $300 000 then? don't they wish to finance their Planet Hell set as well, or has that been accomplished already?

The Planet set was funded in the last Kickstarter if I am not mistaken. The goal will probably be more like $400K + for 6 episodes. Seems like I read somewhere it was costing more than 50K an episode.

It was stated sometime ago that this would be their last funding drive, even before the Axanar bomb came to light.
I'd say they saw the writing on the wall once CBS announced the new Star Trek series for 2017 release to boost CBS' Netfilx clone service. Unlike Axanar, they didn't want to continue to 'poke the Bear' as it were.

With a possible 400K goal they are getting into dangerous territory, painting a big target cross on their backs. 6 episodes would be at least 3 years of work - who could guarantee they will finish this (ok, there are no guarantees in fundraising anyways).

The engine room was funded completely. The planet set was only funded partially. It needs a little bit more.

STC appears to have been playing this smart from the beginning. They obviously know about Axanar's situation so I'm inclined to think they wouldn't proceed unless they know where they stand with CBS and what is allowable.
