Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Let's not kid ourselves. Every company on this planet makes decisions based on what it can do to sell its product to consumers.
True, but despite all the marketing and writing geniuses they hire, the perceptional disconnect between what they think and hope they can sell and what we actually know we'll buy is sometimes astonishing. Just look at some of the write-offs on the annual reports to get a long list.

"Some minor reshoot takes"

"The March reshoots were expected to be a short-lived process, and it seems that they only lasted a week - which should put those of you worried that this was some major overhaul of the film at ease."

That's great. I was starting to get really worried.:techman:

Perhaps someone should inform Gustavo and his source!
I have done that. He said to wait for the trailer. It's no use telling him that. He hates Abrams reboot..
Reshoots in five days, it should be to adjust or add scenes, nothing more. Justin Lin in a photo on twitter seemed very calm

What does Lin have to do with Guardians of the Galaxy?
The rumors went that the suits wanted the DNA of Star Trek infused with Guardians or the Galaxy, which were followed by the hiring of Lin to infuse some Fast and Furious DNA whereupon more rumors and assumptions ensued. Add to that all the stuff about being "less Star Treky" and you've got quite the discussion mill.

In other words, Lin has nothing at all to do with the GOTG thing.

I'm sure his hiring has a great deal more to do with the F&F thing - that is, having made a number of big budget movies that make huge money internationally. The dude's success owes nothing to Marvel or to skiffy genre movies.

Hope the poster will be more like the original movie posters than the usual PhotoShop stuff but I'm expecting the latter

This is getting worrisome.
Just over three months to release and we have neither an official trailer nor do we have any promotions coming out.
We had a trailer for SW:TFA one full year before everything began. Hype started three years early!
ST:Beyond is having neither of those, and with the hype of BvS and CA:CW reaching peak, there will not even be a whisper of ST:Beyond.
Embarassing that Deadpool does 700mil as a new property but ST can't muster even half that. :(

Pegg just pulled out...

...he said something about wanting to make a real film for Fans and Critics:
