Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

I cannot believe this. Following this reasoning, the movie would have to be cancelled or reassigned.

Too late in the game. If it's a bad movie, it is still going to be a bad movie after reshoots. Though I'm personally excited after seeing the first trailer.

Having sources is not impossible.. but things like the NDA exist for a reason and are no joke so I'm sceptical this source would so transparently and not anonymously write things about the movie that we shouldn't know. I would never put someone's job at risk like that, especially if they trusted me with confidential informations.
Then the speculation about Lin's Twitter is on the same level of those over trekmovie reading Zoe 'rip James Horner' post over Twitter as her not being available for trek 4 because she only mentioned his soundtrack for avatar and not trek.. (eyerollingtoinfinity)

http://trekcore.com/blog/2016/03/zo...rek-beyond-shoots-shows-off-new-uniform-look/

the production team is back at work for additional STAR TREK BEYOND filming, and today Uhura actress Zoe Saldana took a break from her time on the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 set to get back into uniform.

Like with Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, and the other cast we've seen over the past nine months of filming, Saldana is also sporting one of the new uniforms worn by the Enterprise crew - and as we reported back in the fall, the lieutenant has a rank braid back on her sleeve.

Gustavo Leon reveals his source:... "The source is Leo Roberts, a producer of B movies in Hollywood. He has his sources. He is the author of the fan film STAR TREK PHOENI. According to him, Paramount was doing several test screening, and they are worried. There was a screening test in Los Angeles, then, he said, it was not difficult to notice that the public did not like the movie (apparently the Enterprise only appears at the very beginning of the film and Kirk does not receive another Enterprise) and the same public hated the end. That's no secret, I am a friend of Roberts since he produced his fan movie in 2010 and he posted the information with details on my Facebook page which caused several trolls. Justin Lin praises AXANAR the same week that Paramount politely asked him to reshoot BEYOND."

He's still editing the film. How can it be having screenings? Seems like nonsense unless we hear something else.

Sounds like the nonsense that Doug Fitz and Leslie Owen like to post all over Facebook. I guess it's possible there's some truth to it, but I'm not going to worry just yet.

There seems to be an element of truth in his story, but nothing so dramatic as that: "the public hated the end", or "Paramount is worried," etc. I believe that the end did not please and not the whole movie.
I am waiting for second trailer. Maybe it will surprise people.

Also going by that, it looks like Joe Taslim is also back. I'm really curious as to the part he plays now.
Yes, he is back (his legs).

If there's any truth at all to negative test screenings, it may not have as much to do with the story that was told as the type of story that's told. It could be audiences were hoping for a space adventure, especially for the fiftieth anniversary, the "boldly going," and all. Instead we seem to be getting (at least mostly) a planet movie, and the test audience was disappointed. It could be the audience was soured by the early exit of the Enterprise and never recovered. That said, the odd thing is, one of the most popular Trek movies, TVH, didn't feature the Enterprise at all in any meaningful way. There was just the cameo at the end. Maybe the movie wasn't "Star Trekky" enough, either. Could Orci get the last laugh on that?
One thing's for sure, since they are redoing the ending, let's hope it goes in TWOK direction and not GEN.

Trying to be positive reshoots -
National Lampoo Vacation org ending the Griswolds did NOT get to Wallyworld Clark went to Roy Wally's home and held him hostage due to park closure. Test audiences HATED ending.
They reshot 6 months later paid John Candy big $$ for his part and movie was great

Hopefully just ending was off - reports of Kirk not receiving another E is bad IF true.

P.S. Zoe killing me in that instagram photo on uni......

So people who never watch Star Trek basically ever.
I do not know how they choose people for test screening, but I believe it is a diverse audience.

Let me rephrase that, people who never watched Star Trek, or Star Wars, or really any major frickin sic-fi thing. otherwise known as people who live under a fucking rock.

Well, yeah. Could be. That "boldy going" exploration stuff is a popular perception of the Trek mythology. Part of the mythology it itself sometimes supports. It's my opinion at least that a fair number of people who didn't like STID simply didn't like it because it wasn't the kind of story they were hoping for. It's a legitimate gripe, but it also may make some of those people prejudiced about judging the story solely on its merits.

Some of the rumors out there make it sound like the test audience's reaction was as if they had been shown "Spock's Brain" or "And the Children Shall Lead". Now, it may really be that bad. Or, it's what I said above: not exactly the story the test audience expected or wanted, so some reacted negatively. Just speculatin'.

Since we don't know the make up of the test audience(s) (or if it even really happened), it's all just speculatin'.

We must be optimistic. After all it is the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. I was thinking about The Wrath of Khan and I hope that this will happen again. I want to see they overcome the challenges and problems and, at the end of the day, show us a good film.

Shatner gonna be getting a call soon then (maybe done it already)
The only people who are going to be calling Shatner are the same people from genre news outfits who always call Shatner when there's a Star Trek movie coming up and they've got some column space to fill.

They'll ask the same "So, are you going to be in the new Star Trek movie this time?" questions they always ask, and Shatner will do his "Am I? I don't know! I haven't talked to anyone about it. Nobody tells me anything! [Edit: I didn't even get the free bag!]" thing again.

It will be fun for those involved, Shatner will get to be entertaining, everyone will go away happy, and no one will care that they haven't learned anything new.
