"Star Trek Begins" - The 'Origins' Film Discussion

JJ Abrams is producing this movie I believe but it seems the current tagline is talking about the beginning of the Kelvin era.
But the beginning of it literally was 2009's first 5 minutes lol.
If it's before 2233.04 that means it's still Prime timeline. So...

Abrams has a producer credit but appears to have little, if any, active involvement.

The reporting suggests it's the prime universe, or a common history.
Paramount is going down the same lane as Warner Bros then.
If they thought Beyond was a flop..

I'm assuming that it's going to be a run-of-the-mill 21st century sci-fi alien invasion flick with Star Trek slapped on the title.

If we go by the biography seen in In A Mirror Darkly*, Archer wasn't the first President.
Actually, we don't know if Archer was the first President or not.

America has had presidents before Washington, they just aren't counted as they were Presidents of the Continental Congress. It could be the same thing with the Federation - a bunch of Presidents on a special council before Archer is the first.

I'm just going by the admittedly non-canon biography briefly seen in the episode.

Point of order: They were Presidents of the Continental Congress (the organization/council). They were not Presidents of the United States (the country). So no, America did not have previous Presidents.
