Netflix does not censor. I know that local platforms do not either. Netflix is managed by England or the Netherlands for other regions outside of the US. There are also local offices, but local office managers only decide which local original content to make. Prime Video and Disney Plus' local managers decide which content will be broadcasted in that region or not, and they apply region-specific censorship. Prime Video brings special censored versions of The Boys and Gen V shows to countries close to that region, such as the Middle East or Turkey. For example, they released a version of The Boys' Herogasm episode shot with different camera angles. There are censorships in the Middle East and Turkey for male genitalia. Last season, they shot an LGBT-themed scene with someone who copied himself. In the Middle East and Türkiye version, there was only one person in that scene. I know that Disney Plus also sends modified versions of some Hulu and FX content to the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia.Ah, thank you for the clarification.
So, is there really any surprise there’s extreme censorship going on in that part of the world? I mean, seriously, in other news, rain is wet.![]()
