"Star Trek Begins" - The 'Origins' Film Discussion

Y'know, every so once in a while we get one of these larger-than-average solar flares headed our way and people act like the Earth is gonna explode or something. Nothing ever happens. Not even some random sparking out of the wall sockets!

I think our electrical infrastructure is a lot more robust than people give it credit for.

Not exactly: we’ve just been extremely lucky so far.

Imagine finding even five Star Trek fans who agree on everything!

There’s no way The Voyage Home would have been made if fans had an effective veto.

But seriously, we know this is happening and that studios take it on board. SNW and PIC S3 were both designed to appeal to online fans after early seasons of Disco proved divisive. Even giving the Klingons hair and D7s, and bringing back Pike and Spock in DIS S2 was evidence of that.

Yup, and those are the two best seasons of live action modern streaming Trek......

Indeed and it was a mixed bag. It's a reactive based storytelling that doesn't inspire me. I like Pike but seeing the TNG crew back or Kirk or Scotty or more Klingons is tepid at times.

Voyage Home is such a unique film. The whole thing is designed to appeal to more than me as a fan. I would I like way more of that.

Hey Paramount: Just make a DS9 movie. Sure, only hardcore DS9 fans and the percentage of Star Trek fans who will go see a movie with 'Star Trek' in the title will watch it, but it's still an infinitely better idea than anything you've come up with for the last 8 years.

ONLY if Ira Behr is involved though. Also maybe RDM.

If not, then I would respectfully disagree with that assessment.
