Always? Have you seen "Tomorrow is Yesterday", "Yesteryear" or "Time Squared"?

Trek time travel rules depend 100% on the writer-of-the-week and how they think it should work.

And that Picard is set in 2399, takes place after the supernova destroyed Romulus but not in the timeline where Vulcan was destroyed (and is part of the Star Trek Universe of shows run by ST'09 writer/producer Alex Kurtzman) says they're fine with how it all happened.

Don't forget yellow moons, green clovers, blue diamonds, purple horseshoes and beer to swill that down with, along with other ubercheezy product placement ads that are so out of place in a Star Trek or even Star Wars film...

What product placements did you have in-mind? I don't remember any, but maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.

I believe Budweiser also makes an appearance in the bar scene.

List of product placement in the Kelvin universe!

    Star Trek
Nokia phone in George Kirk's car
    Budweiser in the Shipyard bar

    Into Darkness
None? Although I wouldn't be surprised if some buildings in San Francisco and London have real company logos on them.

    Beyond
Starfleet computers and equipment are Hewlett-Packard

I think any there may have been were either replaced for filming or digitally removed during post.

There was one scene I recall being discussed here (might have been posted by you? not sure - something involving a street crossing during foot chase sequence, and possible transporter kiosk at curbside) that was filmed at a building which did at the time of the shoot have a prominent logo or company branding at ground level, but it was nowhere to be seen in the finished film.

Yes! I had totally forgotten about that. It was what I thought was a public Facebook terminal (it had something like the blue F) and someone spotted a plague on the wall for something or other. But I think it was still there in the movie? I had a little search but can't find the thread.

Facebook terminal — that was the part I wasn't remembering.

And I had it backwards: there is some sort of building signage seen in the movie (screencapped in your post linked above) which appears to have been added for the scene, but isn't present in a Google Maps StreetView image:

The Facebook terminal signage, or whatever it's meant to be, was something added for the film — it's not present in StreetView.

Conclusion: no accidental company logo placements.

    Probably.

There is a KPMG plaque on the wall in the Into Darkness screencap but it's not in the current day street view. I suspect that's an oversight rather than product placement though.

Also that thread pointed out CNN graphics used in some of the background news feeds, although only (barely) visible in BTS materials so again doesn't count.

I would be ok with the idea that some brands might survive a few more centuries, but product placement is pretty lame at the same time. So I'm conflicted. :weep:

Kirk and Spock create a new rap, inspired by Public Enemy. They're going to fight the powers that be whenever an Admiral goes rogue so that by nuTNG they won't be in vogue.

How can there be brands and corporations in a future where they don't use money or have corporations?

How do you know there are no corporations or that money no longer exists? It’s entirely possible, but the evidence is...inconclusive...at best.

Kirk and co. are thrown back in time and are caught up in a desperate race to prevent the assassination of some prominent figure such as John F. Kennedy, and they also find themselves among some primitive beings and end up giving them fire, and it turns out to be early in human history and our heroes are forever remembered as the Titans of ancient legend.

That's awesome! And since you were there can you tell me if you remember seeing any Facebook logos?

(Although the more I look the more I suspect the terminal was added in post-production along with the cars, building extensions and street textures)
